On June 3, the Roswell Police Department began looking into the claims that two preschool teachers from Georgia were abusing children at the daycare they worked at. According to reports, the abuse was allegedly captured on a live stream video.
Parents reportedly watched in horror as the women they trusted with their children physically assaulted them. In a statement given to People, police revealed they were first contacted by a concerned parent who had logged into the camera system at Parker-Chase Preschool.

“That parent reported logging onto the camera system and seeing concerning physical contact between Alostwani and Briceno against several children in the classroom.” As People reported, after watching some of the surveillance footage, 40-year-old Zeina Alostwani was seen walking up behind one of the children as they sat in a circle and stepped on the child’s hand.
She was then seen “violently” kneeing another child in the back. Additionally 19-year-old Soriana Briceno was caught with her face close to one of the children before pushing another child’s forehead.
“As a result of the investigation into the actions contained in that video, both teachers were arrested,” the statement given to People continued. Both Alostwani and Briceno were fired from their positions at the preschool and charged with first-degree cruelty to children.
They have not yet issued pleas. Investigators are still combing through weeks-worth of footage, meaning additional charges could be brought against the two teachers.
It’s unclear what this means for the future of Parker-Chase Preschool. The parent who reported the teachers has since spoken to Channel 2 Action News.
According to their report, after immediately calling the police and notifying Channel 2 of what she saw, Brant Duncan and Gloria Barghi rushed to the pre-school to demand the removal of the reachers. As Duncan and Barghi revealed it wasn’t their child who suffered the alleged abuse, but that didn’t matter.
“It doesn’t matter whose child it is,” Duncan said. “It’s a child. They’re helpless. They’re defenseless.” The parent of the child who reportedly suffered harm has been contacted, and other abuse victims have also come forward, prompting a larger investigation into the preschool.
Channel 2 also talked with the mother of the victim, who did not want to be publicly identified. “It was a matter of seconds, and knew what we had seen was deliberate and my stomach was just in my throat at that point,” the mom admitted after seeing the video.

In an email sent to the parents by the company that owns the preschool, they called the teachers’ actions “shocking,” “disappointing,” and “inappropriate.” “While we are extremely grateful that the children are well, we take this matter seriously, and our investigation is ongoing. We expect our staff to adhere to the highest standards of care, and any failure to do so will not be tolerated.”
While neither of the suspects has entered pleas as of Wednesday, Alostwani was granted a $75,000 bond, despite the prosecutors’ arguments. Briceno was not given a bond because of her asylum and immigration status.
