Prince Harry Makes His First Public Statement Since the Passing of His Beloved Grandmother, the Queen

Shortly after his brother shared an emotional statement, Prince Harry is also addressing the world for the first time since his beloved grandmother’s passing. Harry shared his message on his and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation website.

“In celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen — and in mourning her loss — we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in her commitment to service and duty. She was globally admired and respected,” Harry began.

“Her unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy. Let us echo the words she spoke after the passing of her husband, Prince Philip, words which can bring comfort to all of us now: ‘Life, of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings.’ “

Harry then went on to address his Granny directly. “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings — from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren,” he continued.

“I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over. And as it comes to first meetings, we now honor my father in his new role as King Charles III.”

Harry concluded his statement, writing, “Thank you for your commitment to service. Thank you for your sound advice. Thank you for your infectious smile.” He then added, “We, too, smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”

As Mamas Uncut recently reported, on September 10 via social media posts, Prince William, who is now next in line for the throne, shared his first statement following his grandmother’s passing as well. “On Thursday, the world lost an extraordinary leader, whose commitment to the country, the Realms, and the Commonwealth was absolute.”

William continued, writing, “So much will be said in the days ahead about the meaning of her historic reign. I, however, have lost a grandmother. And while I will grieve her loss, I also feel incredibly grateful. I have had the benefit of The Oueen’s wisdom and reassurance into my fifth decade.”

The prince went on to remember the role his grandmother played not only in his own life but in the lives of his wife and his three children. “My wife has had twenty years of her guidance and support. My three children have got to spend holidays with her and create memories that will last their whole lives,” William wrote.

“She was by my side at my happiest moments. And she was by my side during the saddest days of my life. I knew this day would come, but it will be sometime before the reality of life without Grannie will truly feel real. I thank her for the kindness she showed my family and me. And I thank her on behalf of my generation for providing an example of service and dignity in public life that was from a different age, but always relevant to us all.”

As he concluded his statement, William added that his “grandmother famously said that grief was the price we pay for love. All of the sadness we will feel in the coming weeks will be a testament to the love we felt for our extraordinary Queen. I will honor her memory by supporting my father, The King, in every way I can.”

William and Harry shocked people earlier this weekend when the beloved royal brothers made a joint appearance outside Buckingham palace alongside their lovely wives.

The images captured of the foursome marked their first time together in quite some time. According to reports, Kensington Palace revealed William invited his brother and sister-in-law to join him and his wife as they greeted those outside the palace.

Prince William thought the walkabout to greet the crowds “was an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family,” a royal source told People.

“It’s such an extraordinary historical moment and also a deeply personal one for the family that you’d hope and think that all members of the family would unite and support [the King] especially. And perhaps some of those wounds can be healed in the process.”

While walking around the memorial, Middleton revealed that Prince Louis had a profound response to his great-grandmother’s passing. Sunday Times editor Roya Nikkhah revealed on Twitter that “an emotional Princess of Wales told a group of children that Prince Louis said, ‘At least Grannie is with Great Grandpa now.’”

The Queen died while at Balmoral, her home where she usually summered. Her coffin has since left her summer home and is now en route back to London.

According to reports, People has confirmed that Elizabeth’s son, Prince Andrew, and his former wife, Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson will be caring for the Queen’s beloved corgis now that she is gone.

A source told People that “the corgis will return to live at Royal Lodge with the Duke and Duchess. It was the Duchess who found the puppies, which were gifted to Her Majesty by the Duke.”

Andrew and Fergie are still friendly and still Iive together at their family home in Windsor despite being divorced. “[Fergie] bonded with Her Majesty over dog-walking and riding horses and even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting.”

Queen Elizabeth was gifted her first corgi in 1933, reports reveal. It was a gift from her father, the King. And throughout her lifetime, her Majesty owned over 30 corgis and dorgis.
