Priscilla Presley Shares Appreciation for Her Fans After Lisa Marie Presley Memorial

Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of rock legend Elvis Presley, took to Twitter on Monday to thank her fans for their continued love and support. The tweet came a day after the memorial for her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, at Graceland in Memphis, TN – an estate she inherited from the King of Rock and Roll.

“Thank you all for your condolences, you have touched me with your words. It has been a very difficult time but just knowing your love is out there makes a difference,” she wrote in a tweet that has been seen by 3.0 million people – it has received 4,000+ retweets, 250+ quote tweets, and nearly 80,000 likes.

Lisa Marie Presley passed away on January 12th after she stopped breathing inside her ex-husband’s home, where she was living at the time. Her heartbeat was restored on the way to the hospital, but she later died on her hospital bed due to cardiac arrest – she was just 54 years old at the time of her death.

The public memorial was a beautiful event that brought together some of Lisa Marie’s closest friends and family members to honor an incredible life lived. They gathered at Graceland, where Lisa Marie was buried alongside her son, Benjamin Keough – who committed suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27.

Joel Weinshanker, a managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, started the memorial by reiterating a wish Lisa Marie had regarding her service – “Don’t make it said.” After Pastor Dwayne Hunt led the attendees through a prayer, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins took the stage to perform a song.

Others to take the stage were Sarah Ferguson (former wife of Prince Andrew), Alanis Morissette (singer and actress), and Jerry Schilling (friends of Elvis and Priscilla Presley). Schilling recently escorted Lisa Marie Presley down the red carpet at the Golden Globes – her last public appearance.

Last week, a representative for Graceland announced that Lisa Marie’s three surviving children – Riley Keough, 33, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14 – will inherit the iconic estate. The mansion, which was the home of Elvis Presley, sits on nearly 14.0 acres of land. Elvis was buried there in 1977.

Priscilla Presley Reads Letter Written By

Of all the tributes and readings that took place at the memorial for Lisa Marie Presley, the one her mother shared was perhaps the most touching. She read a poem titled ‘The Old Soul,’ which was about her daughter’s life. She ended her reading/tribute by saying, “Our heart is broken. Lisa, we all love you.”

As part of her tribute, Priscilla read a letter that was written by one of Lisa Marie’s granddaughters. “Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero to many people all over the world,” the letter began. “But Mama was my icon, my role model, my superhero, in much more ways than one,” she continued.

While she didn’t reveal which daughter penned the message, it’s safe to say that all three of her children would share the same sentiment. “Even now, I can’t get across everything there is to be understood or known about her, but as she always said, ‘I’ll do my best,’” the message concluded.
