Queen Camilla mourns tragic loss. ‘Beth was very special’

In a statement shared by the Royal Family, Queen Camilla is in mourning.

Alongside a photo of the queen with her beloved rescue puppy, Beth, the family announced her death.

“A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home,” the statement began.

According to People, Beth had an untreatable tumor, which resulted in her death.

As the statement continued, the family wrote that Beth “brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire.”

Beth was a Jack Russell Terrier. Queen Camilla adopted her in 2011, People reports.

A year after welcoming Beth into the family, Queen Camilla then adopted Bluebell, another Jack Russell Terrier in 2012, according to People.

Battersea commented on the Instagram post, writing, “Thank you for giving Beth the most wonderful life and for always supporting rescue. Rest in peace Beth.”

“We’re very sad to hear that Beth, HM The Queen’s rescue dog, has sadly passed away,” Battersea continued in its own Instagram post.

“Her Majesty, our Patron, rehomed Beth from Battersea in 2011 and we have many fond memories of Beth visiting our centres over the years. Our thoughts are with Their Majesties at this time. We know how difficult it is to lose a beloved pet and Beth was very special indeed,” Battersea concluded their statement.

“Your Majesties gave Beth such an incredible life, and she will be forever grateful to you for your love, and for raising awareness for rescue dogs,” another commenter wrote.

It’s been a difficult year for the Royal Family, with both King Charles and Princess Catherine diagnosed with cancer.
