As Mamas Uncut previously reported, the royal family, including the Queen had a rather busy weekend with Elizabeth celebrating her 70th anniversary as the Queen of England. On Sunday, the Queen released a statement in honor of the historic milestone that she wished for Camilla to be acknowledged as the Queen Consort.
“When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” the Queen wrote.
As reports revealed, after Charles and Camilla wed, Queen Elizabeth at the time said she wished for Camilla to be known as the Princess Consort when Charles assumed the throne as King. This will now change.
Queen Elizabeth is currently 95 years old, while her son is 73 and Camilla is 74. It is unclear if Camilla also tested positive for COVID.
