According to TMZ, when paramedics arrived, legendary rapper Coolio, best known for his song ‘Gangsta’s Paradise,’ was already deceased. Initial reports say police have opened a death investigation but “as of right now there does not appear to be signs of foul play.”

In a statement issued by Coolio’s longtime manager, TMZ reports that Coolio was at a friend’s house when he excused himself to go to the bathroom. However, when he didn’t come out for a while, despite his friend “calling for him,” the friend went to the bathroom to see what was wrong.

Coolio’s manager, Jarez, told TMZ that “the paramedics suspect he suffered cardiac arrest.” However, an autopsy will confirm the official cause of death.

Coolio was 59 at the time of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.
