On May 26, it was reported that legendary actor Ray Liotta had passed away at 67 years old. As Mamas Uncut reported, it was revealed that the actor was on location shooting a movie in the Dominican Republic when he passed away in his sleep.
Reports also shared that Liotta was with his fiancée of nearly two years, Jacy Nittolo. The couple got engaged over Christmas 2020.
Initial reports said authorities do not expect foul play. However, Ray Liotta’s official cause of death has not been revealed.
Ray Liotta’s Daughter to Carry on Her Father’s Legacy After His Sudden Passing
Not only is Liotta survived by his fiancée, but he is also survived by his daughter from his first marriage, Karsen Liotta. Karsen is 23 years old and following in her father’s footsteps as an actress.
While Karsen has not yet issued a statement regarding her father’s passing, looking at some of her work as an actress, Karsen and her father seem rather close. The father and daughter have worked opposite each other several times in the past.
Karsen is best known for her roles in Hubie Halloween, Prettyface, and Shades of Blue, in which her father starred alongside Jennifer Lopez. Karsen played Anna Kate Wozniak in four episodes of the successful series.
On his Instagram page, Ray Liotta often humbly bragged about his little girl, sharing several photos of them in scenes together or on the red carpet.
“My beautiful daughter and I
in People Magazine – ‘Ray Liotta: What I Know Now,’” Liotta wrote, captioning the photo.
“Hard to believe that my baby girl just graduated high school. Why can’t they stay this way,” Liotta lamented in 2017.
Karsen also dabbled in modeling, and Liotta couldn’t have been more proud of his hardworking girl. “My daughter and @officialslystallone‘s in @vanityfair. Talk about a proud Papa!!! (My daughter Karsen is on the right).”
She has also accompanied her father to many an award show!
“My daughter and I just before we left for the #SAGAwards last year. Her career is really starting to take off and she’s not even out of high school yet,” Liotta wrote proudly. “I won’t go all Dad on you, but I’m very proud of her. Our jobs as parents aside from loving them to death is to get them ready to go out in the world with confidence. I can say I succeeded. If this was paper you’d see a tear drop.”
It’s unclear if Karsen will make a personal statement. The actress seems like a rather private person. Our prayers are with her during this difficult time.
