Just days before what would have been her and Jim Toth’s 12 wedding anniversary, actress Reese Witherspoon has made an emotional and heartbreaking statement.
In a statement shared on her personal Instagram account, Witherspoon revealed that she and Jim have made the decision to end their marriage. Reese and Jim married on March 26, 2011, just one year before welcoming their son Tennessee James Toth into the world in 2012.

Jim was also a stepfather to Reese’s two oldest children, Ava and Deacon, whom she shares with her first husband, actor Ryan Philiippe.
As Reese began in her statement, she wrote, “We have some personal news to share,” seemingly speaking for both herself and Jim. “It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.”
“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together. Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
The statement was signed with both of their names, “Reese and Jim.” Reese made the decision to disable her comments on the particular post.

As Mamas Uncut reported back in February, Reese Witherspoon made an appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna and talked about the ‘awkward’ red carpet photos she took with Ashton Kutcher over the weekend at the premiere of their new Netflix movie Your Place or Mine.
Witherspoon and Kutcher posed for several photos, but fans couldn’t help but notice how they kept their distance from one another. In one photo, Kutcher had his hands in his pockets, and Witherspoon had hers by her side. Normally, co-stars aren’t shy about hugging it out and putting their arms around one another.
And, while fans were quick to point it out, they weren’t the only ones who found it awkward. “[Mila] even emailed us last night. She goes, ‘You guys look so awkward on the red carpet together,’” Witherspoon said on Monday – speaking about Mila Kunis, who has been married to Kutcher for the past seven years.
But there was a reason for the awkwardness. While a guest on a podcast Ashton Kutcher explained the reasoning behind the awkward photos. “Here’s the thing: If I put my arm around her and was, like, all friendly with her, I’d be having an affair with her,” he said.
Unfortunately, it was a lose-lose situation for Kutcher – who would’ve been criticized no matter what he did. “If I stand next to her and I put my hands in my pockets, so there’s no chance that, like, that could be the rumor, the rumor is we don’t like each other,” he further explained. At least everyone is laughing it off.
