We think my fiances son is being abused by his mother: How can we get full custody?

My fiancee has a five-year-old little boy, and we have a four-month-old little girl together. His son’s mom has been awful towards me ever since we got together. She’s threatened me and harassed me. She blamed me for my father’s death, threatened my life, and told me she hoped I miscarried. At the time, I was living across the country and just recently moved to where my fiancee lives. Long story short, I believe shes abusing her son. My fiancee currently has 50/50 custody with her. We get his son half the week. Almost every time we get him he’s either sick or covered in bruises he can’t explain(I think he’s scared to) and lately he’s been losing a lot of weight.. he’s only 28lbs at 5 years old and fits into 3t.. our 4-month-old is almost half that, and she was 3lbs at birth. Anytime he comes to us; he’s starving. I make home-cooked meals every night, and every time he eats as fast as possible and always thanks me. It could be the most straightforward meal, and he’ll just go nuts and woof it down like he hasn’t eaten in days. We’ve tried asking him what he eats …

My boyfriend was abused by his ex and wants to take her to court: Advice?

Hey, so I’m just looking for a bit of advice. It’s not for me but my boyfriend. He has two girls with his ex, the first child was the result of a one night stand with her, but he stepped up, and they got together to raise their daughter, but the girl became abusive, telling people he would beat her and attacked him, punched him so hard that she punctured his lung!! Still, he stayed for the little one; despite her cheating on him,, she told him that he was the father of the second baby, fair enough they split up though. He moved around the corner, and she banned him from seeing the kids. No court or anything just told him no, she then went on to spreading lies and rumors about him and now myself, what I want to know is what he should do, I’ve advised going to court for custody but he’s worried that if it falls through he will lose the kids — any advice welcome. What is an acceptable parenting plan for a 3 year old?

I have a daughter who will be three in 4 weeks. Her biological father and his wife and new child moved over 8 hours away the first week of October… We are now trying to figure out an acceptable new parenting plan…. He wants her for the whole summer, every other Easter, every other Thanksgiving, and every other new years, and every other Christmas…. I do NOT agree with this… That is just too much travel time for a child her age …. Especially considering when she get in kindergarten they only get one day off for Easter and two for Thanksgiving… That’s just too much travel time, in my opinion… And the WHOLE summer! I’d never get to take her places myself…. So what I’m asking, what is an acceptable parenting plan in everyone’s opinion for a three-year-old…. When they live 9 hours away. Oh, and I forgot to mention he wants her every fall break as well. Anonymous Community MemberThis question was asked by a Facebook community member who has asked to remain anonymous.

My friends ex is trying to get custody of her child: Advice?

My friend wanted me to send this in for her. She’s scared about her daughter getting taken away and doesn’t know what to do. And please don’t judge her. She’s having a hard enough time as is she doesn’t need the hate. Here’s her problem: I have a situation with the father of my child, he is planning on getting custody of our child and going back to his ex. I’m really not sure where to start. With the affair, he cheated on his wife with me; he was with his wife the whole time after telling me they were separated. But by the time I found out they were still involved, I was pregnant. He tried abandoning us whenever I got pregnant with our daughter, with full intentions of moving his wife and his kids to another state and abandoning us altogether. Then he comes back and claims he loves me and wants to be with me, and I agree for our child’s sake. Only for him to lose interest in me not even a year and a half later, and now he is saying he is going to get custody of our daughter and go to his mothers, …

Should I go for custody of my siblings?

I have been living in Colorado for over a year with my husband and five years old. In April, I went to go pick up my three siblings from my mother, who is two, almost three states away because she lost her house that she had. She said it would be temporary. However, it is November now, and she stopped being able to give me money in September. And recently in that past week lost communication with us. I have been doing everything I can for them. She’s out there with her new husband, who’s the same age as me and is in and out of jail. And on drugs. So my question is, should I grant custody? I already went to the county building to get cash aide, and they automatically will put her on Child support. I talked to my husband. He doesn’t mind. But I’m so conflicted. What are the chances of my ex sharing custody?

My daughter is nine months. Her dad and I aren’t together and haven’t been since she was a month old. Through this all so far, he’s given me about 20$ and bought about three cans of formula. He has a girlfriend who might I add no good for him and tries to put her two cents into my daughter and his relationship. Like he owes me half of her car seat I bought, and he said he’d have it by this Friday. Then all of a sudden, I hear her in the background saying no, she can get a money order, and then he agreeing yeah, you can get a money order and saying he doesn’t want me spending the money on myself. I know for a fact he doesn’t think I’m going to spend the money on myself. I’ve taken care of our daughter for nine months by myself. It hurt because he knows I would and do everything for her. But now he’s saying he’s taking me to court to get shared custody. Might i add he saw her twice in October because he was hanging around his girlfriend instead of his child? My question is, would the …

Would a judge grant visitation to an absent father?

My daughter is eight years old, and her biological father stopped seeing her around 13 months of age… I met my now-husband when my daughter was four months old. So she thinks my husband is her real dad. My husband has taken over the dad role, and his family treats her as a family as well.. well, the past two years, I’ve been trying to change my daughter’s last name to mine, and it’s been a struggle because I couldn’t find dad’s address. Well, I recently found him, and he is in agreement to sign papers, but only if I drop child support. At first, I said no to dropping support… so a few days ago he said since he’s paying child support, he wants to start visitation again… in which I am not going to allow since he has been absent for seven years. He’s missed birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and when she was in the hospital for a month with strep in her brain… So my question…do you think a judge would give him visitation if he’s been out of her life for seven years?? Should I get a DNA test on my daughter if the possible dad doesn’t want anything to do with her?

My daughter just turned one in September. The guy who raised her for the first year and was there all through the pregnancy might not be the father as we took a little break right before I got pregnant. The other guy who could possibly be the father denies it all and says there’s no chance he’s the father. The guy who was always by my side knows there’s a possibility of my daughter not being his, and he’s been there every step of the way. My question is. Should I get a DNA test to find out for sure? I believe my kid deserves to know who her father is. But at the same time, one of the possibilities already made it clear he wants nothing to do with her. So should I leave it alone and just let the guy who has been here for the last year continue to be the father figure since no matter what, he’s always supported us. And be the father role model To my daughter while the other guy has had no contact since before my daughter was born daughter just turned one in September. The guy who raised her for the …

My exes family has been attacking me for no reason: What can I do?

My son’s dad and I have gotten along great the last four years we’ve been split up. We coparent very well. He got a new girlfriend about eight months ago, who I really really liked. She’s a good girl and good for my son. Well, ever since she came around, they’ve been keeping notes about every single time his dad has overnight and every little mistake that I make. They were trying to get full custody. We went to court; they lied about so many things trying to make me look like an unfit mother, none of it was backed up with proof. His girlfriend’s mom even got on the stand and said some very ridiculous and untrue things about me. Anyway, nothing changed, I still have sole custody, and he still sees our son the same amount he always has. But now I feel like our great co-parenting relationship is ruined, and it makes me so sad. I loved how well we got along and shared all the holidays; it was perfect, and it was awesome for our son to see his parents being friends. Well, the night of the court hearing, I ran into the dad’s girlfriend’s parents …

I just found out that my old friend is the father is my 11-year-old: Advice?

When I was 17, I got knocked up by a friend. We were both in other relationships, so for 11 years, I never dreamed he was the father. It just wasn’t even a possibility in my mind. We both moved on, he is happy with a family of his own, and we live 2200 miles apart. I recently found out through ancestry that he is indeed the father. I’m torn on what to do or how to go about it. On the one hand, the guy is happily married with two kids. I’m a single mom now, my youngest went to live with his dad, and it’s just me and my oldest. I don’t want money; I don’t want to ruin his family. I want my son to know where he comes from. I see his wondering, and I answer his questions the best I can, but now that I actually know, I feel like a horrible person for withholding this information. He definitely has a right to know, but I also don’t want to risk losing my only other child. What if he chooses him, a loving stay at home dad over a mom who works all the time. …

My ex wants to sign over rights for our child: Should I do it?

I have a big debate going on in my head that I could use advice on. The father of my child is offered to sign over full custody to me once our son is born. But he still will be in our sons life on a regular basis, he’s the one that brought this up not me, I would of never have asked him to do that because I would never keep my son from his dad, we broke up right before I found out I was prefab that’s but it was on okay terms but better off letting our son have two separate happy homes, but he said he’s okay with giving me full custody. My debate in my head, what are the pros and cons to it. I know once I do it that he will no longer be responsible for child support, which is why I’m pretty sure he wants to do it. But also I know there are a lot of positives to it also, not having to ask for permission when I wanna take him places, don’t ever have to worry about going back and forth to court over things. My boyfriend took my daughter in the middle of the night and filed for full custody: Help?

So I’m going through a rough time. My question is, what is the chance that I’ll lose my baby girl. I and the father of my child decided to move back to my home of record from California to Ohio. I just got out of the military. We have a three-year-old daughter. Two days before we were supposed to leave, he took the child in the middle of the night. We aren’t married, so there was nothing I could do. Four days later, he served me court documents requesting 100 custody. I filed an emergency hearing got temporary custody of her till the court hearing in December. He accused me of abusing our daughter over the years and neglecting her. He has no proof for these allegations. It’s just false made up lies because he changed his mind and didn’t want to move states any longer. I’m just looking for advice on what’s going to happen at the court hearing.. is there any chance I could lose custody and or have to share 50/50 with him. I have been the sole provider for her whole life and still am. What should I expect?? Anonymous Community MemberThis question was asked by …
