And just like that Ricky Martin is a father of four. On October 29, the actor and his husband, Jwan Yosef, announced the birth of their fourth child.
The baby boy, who they named Renn, is the couple’s third son. Their oldest sons, Matteo and Valentino, are 11 years old. And their daughter, Lucia, is 10 months old. Martin became a father to Matteo and Valentino long before meeting Yosef.

Martin and Yosef, who have been married since 2017, proudly announced the birth of their baby boy on Instagram. Martin wrote, “Our son Renn Martin-Yosef was born.” He included the hashtag, “The baby is born.” Yosef—an artist—also shared the same photo, with a caption that read, “Renn Martin-Yosef, our baby boy is here.”
The multitalented entertainer announced that they were welcoming another child into their family in September while he was accepting an award for his advocacy of LGBTQ rights at the Human Rights Campaign National Dinner in Washington D.C.
Martin said, according to People, “My husband Jwan, I love you, my beautiful twins, Valentino and Matteo, they’re also here, I love you with all my heart, you’re my strength, you inspire me every day, you motivate me to keep doing what I’m doing and you guys are amazing kids. You guys are amazing. I love you.”
Then after calling Lucia the “light of my life,” he added, “And by the way, I have to announce that we are pregnant. We are waiting. I love big families.”
In December 2018, Martin and Yosef announced Lucia’s birth in a similar fashion. The proud dad took to Instagram, writing, “We are beyond happy to announce that we have become parents to a beautiful and healthy baby girl, Lucia Martin-Yosef.
He continued, “It has been a special time for us and we cant wait to see where this stellar baby will take us. Both her beautiful brothers, me and Jwan have fallen in love with Lucia.” The singer told People that he and Lucia share the same birthday, December 24.
Shortly after Lucia’s announcement, Martin shared a photo of Matteo and Valentino at about the same age Lucia is now.
Throughout his journey of being a father, Martin has chosen to stay relatively private when it comes to his children. Very rarely do fans get to see his two oldest sons, and it was seven months after announcing Lucia’s birth that he shared a photo of the beautiful little girl.

Then in February, Martin brought one of his twins to walk the GRAMMYs red carpet with him.
He said of being a dad earlier this year, “We love this, this is my career, I’ve been doing this since I was 12 years old. I was born doing this, but there’s nothing like the tranquility at home, when you have your kids running when you open the door of your house and they run toward you and they say, ‘Daddy, Daddy, welcome home!’ It’s the best thing.”
It’s unclear when the couple, who met on Instagram and started dating in 2016, plans on growing their family even more. Martin told reporters while walking the Golden Globes red carpet that he would like to have FOUR MORE sets of twins.
“It’s a lot going on so we’re going to put things in order first and then we are going to get ready for many more kids.”
