While in San Juan, Puerto Rico, pop superstar Ricky Martin had a restraining order issued against him following a judge’s approval. According to the Associated Press, Martin currently leaves in an upscale neighborhood of Dorado.
However, local police say they haven’t been able to find Martin after attempting to issue you the restraining order at his home, police spokesman Axel Valencia revealed.
Ricky Martin Responds After He Is Issued a Restraining Order Following Reports of a Domestic Dispute
The Associated Press further reported that the restraining order was filed under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law. Although, it remains unclear who requested the restraining order.
According to Yahoo! News, a local newspaper known as El Vocero reported that the other party named in the restraining order dated Martin for “seven months.” El Vocero claims the restraining order reveals that the alleged former couple broke up two months ago, which would mean sometime in April or May.
Further, it is being reported that Martin didn’t want to accept that the relationship was over and has allegedly been “seen loitering near the petitioner’s house at least three times.” The restraining order is further quoted as saying, “The petitioner fears for his safety.”
The order now prohibits Martin from contacting or calling the person. The restraining order is active for at least the next month.
In a statement obtained by People, a representative for Martin denied the allegations against the pop star. “The allegations against Ricky Martin that lead to a protection order are completely false and fabricated. We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”
People also reported that this restraining order comes after Martin’s ex-manager sued him for more than $3 million in unpaid commissions. Rebecca Drucker and her legal team filed the papers for the lawsuit on June 29.
Ricky Martin is reportedly still married to artist Jwan Yosef. The couple share four children together, Lucia, Renn, Matteo, and Valentino.
The couple has been married since 2017. Just last year, although Ricky and Jwan don’t often share about their personal life together, Martin took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about his husband as he decorated a wall in their home, calling him “the most beautiful sculpture.”
The singer seems to be preparing to put out new music soon. “In this photo, a little tease of what the video of my next single is going [to] feel like,” Martin captioned the photo teasing new music.
