Despite the reports of rocky relationships, the Royal family is coming together to wish Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet well following her birth. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, on June 4, Harry and Meghan welcomed their second child into the world.
They announced her birth and her special name two days after meeting her. Her full name, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, pays homage to some of the most important people in their lives.
Lilibet is the nickname the Queen’s family calls her, which was started by her beloved late husband Prince Philip. And obviously, Diana is Harry’s mother’s name.

The Royal Family Offers Their Well Wishes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Following the Arrival of Lilibet Diana.
Now, following the news of Lili’s birth and the special meaning behind her name, the Royal family has took to their respective social media accounts to share their own well wishes.
Harry’s brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a photo of Meghan, Harry, and Archie while they were still expecting, writing, “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie.”
And Harry’s grandmother, the royal monarch, Queen Elizabeth, wrote, “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana! The Queen, The Prince of Wales, and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news. Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.”
Their cousin, Princess Eugenie, who also recently gave birth, shared her congratulation for Meghan and Harry as well, saying that she “couldn’t be happier” for them.
In a statement shared with the public on June 6, it revealed that Lili weighed 7 lbs 11 oz at birth, and “both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.” The couple went on to thank everyone for their “love and prayers,” adding that Lilibet is “more than we could have ever imagined.”
And believe it or not, the name Lili was one that Harry had in mind long before he was ever a dad! According to Entertainment Tonight, “several royal reporters have shared that during a January 2019 royal event in Birkenhead, England, Harry approached a mother of a little girl named Lily and asked her about the spelling of her daughter’s name.”
Meghan was only pregnant with Archie at the time, and Prince Harry hadn’t mentioned if they were expecting a boy or a girl.
“Prince Harry came over first and chatted to my two-year-old then spoke to my six-year-old Lily and then as he was walking off, he turned back he asked Lily if she spelled her name with an I or Y,” Lily’s mother, Rebecca Blundell, told the Daily Mail at the time. “I straight away thought that must be a name choice.”
This is the last child for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after telling Oprah Winfrey, “Having any child, any one or a two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl, now we’ve got our family and we’ve got four of us.”
