Royal Family Shares Intimate Photo of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip Together Again

Just days after Queen Elizabeth II was officially laid to rest, the Royal Family took to Instagram to share one of the first pictures of Her Majesty’s final resting place. As it is well known, Elizabeth was laid to rest near St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The beloved Queen is now forever with her father King George VI, the Queen Mother Elizabeth, and her adorning husband Prince Philip. The photo revealed the foursome’s combined ledger stone. See the photo for yourself, below:

“A photograph is released today of the ledger stone now installed at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, following the interment of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth,” the caption read. “The King George VI Memorial Chapel sits within the walls of St George’s Chapel, Windsor.”

Followers and mourners took to the comments section to thank the royal family for sharing such an intimate photo. “Thank you for sharing this, very personal. Now they are all together again,” one commenter wrote.

As it was previously reported, for the last nearly year and a half, Prince Philip has been resting in the Royal Vault awaiting his beloved bride. Now they will spend eternity together.

While making one of their first appearances since the Queen’s passing, Kate Middleton—now known as the Princess of Wales—admitted what it was like being at Windsor Castle without her grandmother-in-law.

In a video shared via TikTok and Instagram, Kate can be heard saying, “It’s very strange being here without Her Majesty. She’s touched everyone’s lives globally.”

Prince Harry made similar comments, telling people, “It’s a lonely place up there now without her,” Harry could be heard in a video shared by The Sun. “Whichever room she was in, you felt her presence throughout.”

For those who watched the Queen’s funeral in real time, you saw two of the Queen’s great-grandchildren present, Prince William and Princess Kate’s two oldest children, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte.

As the two young royals remained on their best behavior, people took notice of the incredibly sweet and emotional gesture Princess Charlotte made to remember her beloved great granny. In addition to her loved black ensemble, complete with an adorable black wide-brim hat, Charlotte also wore her first piece of jewelry in public.

Photos of the tiny princess show a sparkling brooch on her left shoulder. The brooch was a silver, jewel-encrusted horseshoe, in honor of the Queen’s fondness for her own horses.

Reporters have revealed that the brooch was actually a gift to Charlotte from the Queen. How brilliant is that?

It was also learned what the note atop the Queen’s coffin says and who it is from. Last year, when Prince Phillip passed away in April 2021, the Queen wrote a private note to her husband and signed it with the nickname he and her father used to call her, Lilibet.

It has since been reported that the Queen’s eldest son, King Charles III, has written the note that has been seen amongst the flowers that sit on the Queen’s casket. The note, officials said, reads, “In loving and devoted memory. Charles R.”

It is tradition that a final note is placed on the caskets of members of the royal family once they pass. Many of you may remember the incredibly emotional moment when Prince William wrote the word “mommy” which sat atop Princess Diana’s casket when she passed away at just 36 years old in 1997.

Prince William recently opened up about what the last 10 days have felt like for him as he and his family mourn the loss of his beloved granny. A reporter on the scene who spoke to a woman who met William Thursday said the prince told her the death of his grandmother brought back memories of the death of his mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales.

“He told us yesterday had been particularly difficult and following the coffin had reminded him of his mother’s funeral, of Diana,” said Jane Wells, who had come to lay flowers for the queen at Sandringham. “He said it had been very difficult.”

While their youngest child, Prince Louis wasn’t involved in the funeral, Princess Kate shared an anecdote her youngest shared with her after being told of his great-grandmother’s passing.

While walking around the memorial, Middleton revealed that Prince Louis had a profound response to his great-grandmother’s passing. Sunday Times editor Roya Nikkhah revealed on Twitter that “an emotional Princess of Wales told a group of children that Prince Louis said, ‘At least Grannie is with Great Grandpa now.’”
