A source is letting everyone know that Naya Rivera‘s ex’s relationship with her sister is strictly platonic. And there is a very good reason why Ryan Dorsey and Nickayla Rivera now live together.
While talking with People, the source shared that the only reason they are currently living together is so that they can raise Josey properly. “Ryan is a great dad, but Josey needs a mother figure in his life too. Nickayla loves [Josey] so much and is amazing with him. Ryan knows that Josey will thrive with her around.”

The source continued to say that Nickayla’s support is very helpful, especially when “Ryan has days when he very much struggles.” The support “has offered relief and comfort.
“It helps him that he’s not alone with Josey,” the source said. He’s very grateful for her.”
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Daily Mail first reported Dorsey and Nickayla’s new living arrangement after publishing a photo of the two of them on a Target run together. Dorsey and the late actress, Naya Rivera, share a son together, Josey, who is Nickayla’s beloved nephew.
After the Mail published their story which implied that Dorsey and Nickayla may be more than just friends, both of them issued their own responses informing the public that they’re doing what is best for 5-year-old Josey, who witnessed his mom’s passing. “In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friend and family,” Nickayla began her statement.
“Showing up for my nephew, even though I can’t show up for myself. I’m not concerned with the way things look because no one can see each agonizing moment we all endure. What matters most I’ve learned is to show compassion, not to judge others, and never take a moment of life for granted. I hope you all can do the same.”
Dorsey echoed those sentiments in the 12-minutes video he recorded addressing their heartbreaking situation. He also opened up about how having Nickayla live with him and Josey is what Josey wants right now.
“She’s now the closet thing that he has to a mom,” Dorsey said while talking about Nickayla and why they made the decision to move in together. “I wouldn’t want any of you to ever have to go through that, and to have to let him get what he wants, what he asks for, and what he needs right now, which is his family.” He also called their living arrangements temporary.

Dorsey and Naya divorced after several years together in 2018. It has been three months since the singer and actress tragically passed away while on a boat with Josey on July 8.
