Fans don’t get to see Ryan Reynolds’ eldest daughter, James, very often, but she was spotted alongside her father at a football match between Wrexham AFC and Sheffield United. For those that don’t know, Reynolds is a co-owner of the Wrexham football team with fellow actor and friend Rob McElhenney.
Several photos from the match show James holding Reynolds’ hand as they walk through the stands at The Racecourse Ground in Wrexham – the stadium the team plays at. She was also photographed standing next to her dad as he made his rounds – as the owner, he’s quite the popular man in town.
The football match ended in a 3-3 tie, which is quite impressive for Wrexham – considering they were playing a much more skilled team in Sheffield United. The tie comes after three straight wins for Wrexham at the FA Cup tournament. Both teams take the field for a rematch on February 7th, with the winner advancing.
“When [McElhenney] and I got into this, it all felt so impossible. But impossible is [Wrexham AFC’s] favorite color. That was one of the most exciting things I’ve EVER seen. Thank you to each and every Wrexham supporter who came out and aimed your heart at that pitch tonight,” said Reynolds on Twitter.
Reynolds and McElhenney took over as co-owners in November 2020 – a process that was officially approved in February 2021. The takeover was documented in an FX series titled Welcome to Wrexham. Reynolds is also busy with his acting and other business ventures, but he always finds time for his kids.
Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, has always praised her husband’s ability to put his family first, but she also understands that he has other passions – which she totally supports. She recently took to her Instagram Stories to talk about the January 29th game against Sheffield – the one her 8-year-old daughter was at.
“I bought ESPN+ today. Just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live,” she said, adding it was totally ‘worth it.’ Reynolds and Lively share three children already – James, 8, Inez, 6, and Betty, 3 – and have a fourth on the way. The power couple made the pregnancy announcement last September.
Ryan Reynolds Makes Unannounced Visit to Canadian Campus
Ryan Reynolds is a busy man, but he somehow finds the time to do spontaneous things every now and then. He most recently made an unannounced appearance at Seneca College in Toronto, Ontario, to surprise a group of broadcast journalism students while in class. He was receiving a tour at the time.
Several students videotaped a hilarious interaction they had with Reynolds when he appeared in front of a green screen and started reading the teleprompter – perfectly, might I add – with some of the other students. He was cracking jokes and making people laugh the entire time, which comes as no surprise.
“Thank you for the tour, @SenecaCollege. Wish something like this existed when I was starting out. #SenecaProud,” wrote Ryan Reynolds on Twitter. The campus also posted of his visit on social media, welcoming him back at any time. It was a special visit that was met with a lot of special memories.

As for what the future holds, Reynolds has a lot on his plate. Not only will he be a father of four in just a few months, but he’ll be starring in and producing a film called IF – which is filming now. He also has plans to one day have majority ownership of the Ottawa Senators of the NHL – the man doesn’t stop!
