Did Sarah Michelle Gellar Just Compare Social Media Use to Getting a Tattoo?

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. might not be the strictest parents in the world, but they certainly have an unusual stance on letting their children use social media. In fact, Gellar recently compared it to allowing a 5-year-old child to get a Paw Patrol tattoo on their face.

“Because at that age, there’s nothing better than Paw Patrol. And now you’re 10 and 13, and you still have these tattoos on your face and it’s not even who you are anymore,” said Gellar in an interview with Yahoo Life. “That’s a very hard concept for young kids to grasp,” she added.

Gellar goes on to explain her rules are stricter than most, but they’re not unnecessarily strict or mean to their two children – Charlotte, 13, and Rocky, 10. For example, they’re not allowed to own social media accounts, but they’re allowed to look at social media on their parents’ phones.

The actress added, “I believe kids need to know what their limitations are, and they actually thrive in that environment. We’re not mean, we’re not unnecessarily strict, but we have rules. And the same way I abide by my code of rules, I expect the same from our children.”

According to Gellar, their son has yet to show interest in social media and while their daughter has, they’ve decided to cross that bridge another day. I guess everyone has their own ways of parenting and it’s certainly not the worst stance I’ve seen regarding social media use with kids.

In addition to her strict rules about social media, Gellar opened up about her recent partnership with Rite Aid – encouraging parents and children to get their flu shots this flu season. She’s a heavy advocate for everyone doing their part in fighting the flu, including herself and her family.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has been busy lately, recently celebrating her 20th wedding anniversary with Freddie Prinze Jr. on September 1, 2022. She immediately reached out to Howard Stern, who said her relationship with Prinze wouldn’t last 10 years. Stern was obviously very wrong.

Two weeks later, she announced her cameo in Do Revenge and took to the red carpet at TUDUM Theater in Hollywood for a special screening of the Netflix film. She even shared a photo of her and her 13-year-old daughter, Charlotte, who was airing her mother a kiss.

It was a surprising photo, considering Sarah Michelle Gellar has made it a point to keep her children off of her social media. She rarely shared photos of them in the past and would usually cover their faces anytime she did. It was a beautiful photo and an even more beautiful moment.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is best known for her role as Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Before 2022, her last film was in 2009 – though she received various television roles in that span, including a main role as Sydney Roberts in The Crazy Ones. Now, she’s apparently back!
