Scheana Shay is opening up about her “miracle” pregnancy which tragically ended in a miscarriage. The Vanderpump Rules star used her podcast, Scheananigans, to open up the roller coaster of emotions she and her boyfriend have been through the last several weeks.
As fans of the show already know, Shay was told by doctors she has seen in the past that getting pregnant on her own would be difficult and as a result, the 35-year-old had her eggs frozen to increase her odds of becoming a mother when she was ready. However, as the reality star revealed on the latest episode of her podcast, Shay and her boyfriend Brock Davies found themselves celebrating a miracle in quarantine.

Scheana Shay Opens Up About Miscarrying Miracle Pregnancy
According to Shay, she and Davies first learned about her “miracle” pregnancy “a few weeks ago.” And they were obviously surprised by the news. “I didn’t think that I could get pregnant on my own. My AMH levels, for those of you who know what they are, were 0.28. That’s basically your fertility levels, and that tells you your egg count. I have very low ovarian reserve.”
So when she started experiencing morning sickness, she originally chalked her nausea up to alcohol after initially getting sick following the birthday celebration she threw for Davies. Eventually, they learned her nausea was because she was pregnant and they couldn’t contain their excitement.
So to celebrate, Shay and Davies told those closest to them. Sadly, while planning a special Father’s Day surprise for Shay’s dad which would have consisted of Shay telling him he’s going to be a grandfather, she started bleeding. ” I was bleeding all weekend, and it wasn’t stopping.”
Shay and Davies visited her doctor to figure out what was going on. They learned that while her HCG levels “went up significantly,” it wasn’t “doubling or tripling as it should.” Her progesterone levels had also “dropped significantly.” But when she was put on progesterone supplements, the bleeding stopped.
Shay explained that that along with some research of her own, allowed her to “hold on to that little bit of hope.” It was’t until she went in for her first ultrasound that her doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat. Shay was also told that there was “nothing progressing” or “growing inside.”
“There were parts that he could see where [the fetus] was starting to form and it just didn’t. So obviously, [it was] just devastating. We were so excited. To be excited for a few weeks and then it’s gone so quickly. It’s still been a lot to process. Now I’m at home and I’m just waiting to naturally miscarry. I have to go back to my doctor this week so he can do another ultrasound. Because now I’m just literally sitting here waiting, feeling normal but still treating my body as if I’m pregnant, which is a complete ‘mind f’— because I know there’s nothing progressing but there’s still something there and I haven’t passed it yet.”
Shay added that she wanted to talk about her journey because she wants people to know that “a miracle did happen” as it was supposed to be impossible for her to conceive naturally. Now, Shay is leaning on her co-star Stassi Schroder for comfort.
Schroder is currently expecting her first child. “The morning [after bleeding], I wake up and I see all over the Internet that Stassi’s pregnant and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, we’re pregnant together. I wonder how far along she is.'”

And while Shay didn’t share the news with Schroder right away, even when sending a congratulatory text, she admits that they have talked more in the last five days than they have in the last five years. “She sent me the sweetest, most heartfelt message just genuinely being there for me and that really meant a lot because she’s pregnant right now. I’m sure being pregnant, you can’t imagine losing it.”
Scheana Shay says she’ll be going back to the doctors to figure out the next steps.
