Sean Lowe took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday to answer some Q&As from fans and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The former Bachelorette (contestant on Season 8) and Bachelor (Season 17 bachelor) detailed a scary incident that happened recently while shopping with his son at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
One of his fans had asked him to share ‘something super weird that happened to you recently,’ which prompted him to share the juicy details about what happened. It all went down roughly two months ago when he was checking out at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Dallas – that’s when a woman came into the store.
“Four guys are outside trying to steal a truck,” the woman says. Sean must’ve had an idea it was his truck getting stolen because someone has tried to steal his truck before – so he told his son to stay inside and proceeded to run outside. Sure enough, four guys in ski masks were attempting to steal his truck.

“Long story short, they didn’t get caught, a witness saw them holding guns out of the window of their getaway car, and I’ve thanked God 1000x for not allowing Samuel and I to walk up on them unknowingly,” he continued. While the alleged thieves ‘didn’t get caught,’ what’s most important is that everyone’s safe.
A separate fan asked a follow-up question about his truck, “Why are people always trying to steal your truck?!” the fan asked – to which Sean Lowe responded, “Because I’m an idiot and bought an obnoxiously loud and fast truck that criminals love.” He confirmed that he’s in the process of selling the truck soon.
His truck was just one of the many topics of discussion in his Q&A. He also talked about his family dog, Gus – a bullmastiff. They ended up having to give Gus away after several ‘lapses of judgment,’ including snapping at and biting Lowe’s daughter Mia Mejia and son Samuel – the latter of which was recent.
“The result was a trip to the E.R. and a staple in the head. So as much as I love that dog, I have to protect my kids first. But he’s in a great home and we’ll get to still see him occasionally,” Sean Lowe explained. He confirmed in a later question that he and his wife have no plans of getting another dog anytime soon.
Sean Lowe Answers More Fan Questions on Instagram
During his Instagram Story Q&A, Sean Lowe was asked about several other things – including his furniture, his religion, his time on The Bachelor, his marriage to Catherine Giudici Lowe, and his favorite qualities about his son, Samuel. He was kept busy but gave a lot of insight into his life at the moment.
While he’s not one to toot his own horn, he said his furniture business – Home By Sean & Catherine Lowe – ‘has quietly become one of Wayfair’s largest American brands. He also gave a huge shoutout to a book he was reading at the time – Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want To Do? by Jonathan “JP” Pokluda.
He says he spends a lot of time reading and teaching the bible, writes down prayer requests daily, and writes down five things he’s thankful for that day – part of a routine he has at Chick-Fil-A after he drops Samuel off at school. As for his time on The Bachelor, he still keeps in touch with host Chris Harrison.
