Remember Her? You’ll Be Shocked to See Courtney Stodden Now

For years, Courtney Stodden was a cautionary tale. At 16 years old she married a 50-year-old actor with her mom’s permission.

Stodden was ridiculed for her mature look and odd behavior, while her husband was praised. And for a time, it seemed like Stodden enjoyed the attention, negative or otherwise.

This is Stodden now:

As Stodden revealed in several of her TikTok videos, the now 28-year-old says she was groomed as a teen and was manipulated into marrying Hutchison. “I was mentally groomed. I was mentally kidnapped as a child.”

Now Stodden says her TikTok is “her”. “I am not going to try to be something that I’m not. This is me and I want you guys to get to know. I feel like we’ve been on this journey together.”

And while Stodden doesn’t shy away from being herself, she admits that the real key is taking back ownership of her own body and living life on her own terms. She admits that it hasn’t been easy, but it is possible.

As Stodden continues to gain her independence, she revealed that just this past October, she got her license for the first time. It was a major milestone for her.

“At 16, I got my marriage license instead of my driver’s license. This is the first step to my independence,” Stodden wrote on Instagram.

“I have been suppressed for so long. My worth was so shattered by the men in my life, that I thought it wasn’t possible for me to be an independent, full human. This accomplishment may seem small to some people, but I assure you – it is anything BUT small.”

As Stodden continued, she wrote, “I’ve never felt the wind in my hair, driving down the PCH – independent from it all – but that beautiful and scary journey starts now. I’m 28, and I finally got my driver’s license on 10.4.22.”

“Living in a world surrounded by toxic masculinity, I didn’t have a chance to believe in myself. This journey is mine. You are worth your sanity and freedom. You are worth your life. Believe in yourself – I believe in you.”
