Selena Gomez is calling on her fans to end the negativity and hate directed towards Hailey Bieber. The latter recently reached out to the former and complained that she has received death threats from some of Gomez’s most faithful fans. In response, Gomez took to her Instagram Story to bring those death threats to an end.
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. “This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. ❤️,” Selena Gomez wrote on Instagram.
The news comes after months of speculation that the two have been feuding on social media – though both sides have denied those rumors and have repeatedly tried to signal that there’s no rift between them. Now that things have escalated to the point of death threats being made, they want speculation to stop.
Hailey then publicly thanked Selena on her Instagram as well for speaking out:

Fans of Selena Gomez have long speculated that something might be going on between the two and a lot of that speculation stems from their history with Justin Bieber. Selena dated Justin on-and-off between 2010 and 2018, while Hailey dated him on-and-off between 2015 and 2016 before marrying him in 2018.
Last year, fans started speculating that Justin’s relationship with Hailey was the reason he and Gomez split, but Hailey has denied those rumors on several occasions. In April 2022, she begged the media and fans to leave her alone and ‘be miserable somewhere else’ because ‘enough time has passed.’
In an interview with Alex Cooper on her Call Her Daddy podcast in September 2022, Hailey bluntly doubled down on her statement. “Let’s just put it this way, when him and I ever started hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship. Ever. At any point. I would never,” she stated.
One month later, Selena and Hailey attempted to further squash any of those rumors by posing together at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures 2nd Annual Gala in Los Angeles, California. They were seen standing side-by-side and even side-hugging one another, but fans still wouldn’t let go of their suspicion.
Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber Feud Heats Up on TikTok
More recently, the Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber ‘beef’ was revisited by fans who thought Hailey had been throwing shade at Selena through social media. However, the two repeatedly (again) had to tell fans to relax and were forced to (again) deny rumors of any rift. Of course, fans weren’t ready to listen yet.
In January, Hailey and Kylie Jenner posted a video on TikTok of them lip-syncing ‘And I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right.’ The video came out around the same time Selena was being body-shamed for a bikini photo she had posted. Selena later addressed the video in a comment.
In February, fans speculated that Hailey and Kylie were once again throwing shade at Selena in a video that appeared to be mocking Selena’s eyebrows. This time, both Selena and Kylie took to the comments and agreed that the speculation was ‘reaching’ and that no one was throwing shade at anyone.

Selena Gomez ended up taking a break from social media, but that didn’t help things settle down as fans continued to speculate upon her return. That all led up to this point, where both Hailey and Selena are joining together to tell fans to stop – adding that fans are crossing a line with their death threats.
