Serena Williams Says Despite Being ‘Exhausted’ and ‘Stress,’ Mom Always Keep Going as She Opens up About Being a Working Mom

Serena Williams is no stranger to taking on big challenges. The tennis star has won 23 Grand Slam titles, she runs her own clothing line and she is mom to 2-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

The tennis champion may make it look easy on and off the court, but she recently took to Instagram to share a sentiment all moms know too well, being a working mom is not for the faint of heart.

In the post, she shared a picture of Olympia asleep in her arms while they wait in a car. Williams wrote, “I am not sure who took this picture but Working and being a mom is not easy. I am often exhausted, stressed, and then I go play a professional tennis match. We keep going.”

The athlete continued, “I am so proud and inspired by the women who do it day in and day out. I’m proud to be this baby’s mama.”

Williams’ followers were very supportive of the candid post, cheering Williams on from the sidelines. “Whew. Sis. This face. I’ve worked it many times. You’re incredibly beautiful as a #workingmom,” one person wrote.

“Your truth is so inspiring. We are not alone,” said Kerry Washington. “Yes, yes and yesssss! I feel this. Thanks for sharing and lifting others up in the process,” said Angela Kinsey.
