‘Sister Wives’ Star Robyn Brown Gives Her Thoughts on Christine Brown Divorcing Kody Brown

Sister Wives star Robyn Brown, the only sister wife legally married to Kody Brown, recently shared her thoughts on one of her sister wives, Christine Brown, declaring her divorce from their husband. Christine was spiritually married to Kody for more than 26 years and has given birth to six of his 18 total children.

According to Christine, her spiritual marriage with Kody came to an end when she decided it was over – citing the fact that she wasn’t legally married to the 53-year-old and is no longer a member of the Mormon Fundamentalist belief. Without legal documents binding her with Kody, no legal proceedings are needed.

Of course, her sister wives (and husband) didn’t share that same sentiment. In fact, they feel as if Christine is invalidating and delegitimizing everything they believe in – creating a stark divide in what used to be a happy polygamist family. Fans are only learning more with each new episode every Sunday.

In a confessional on the latest episode, Robyn Brown finally gave her thoughts on the divorce. “Usually our church would [be the one to] say you’re divorced. You have to go ask for a divorce. You have to get paperwork, you have to get approval. You have to prove that the marriage is broken,” said Robyn.

She later explained how the church normally requires counseling and meetings before approving a divorce and even then, Christine would’ve had to be with another man. Until those requirements are met, she technically isn’t divorced. She then added it might not apply since she’s no longer with the church.

Robyn isn’t the only one in disbelief over the divorce. Kody Brown has been vocal and candid about the divorce from the start. “We never made an official agreement. We never signed a paper. We never agreed. We never went to our church leaders and said, ‘Hey, we’re divorced’ or ‘We want a divorce.’”

As his marriage with Christine continues to fall apart, it appears the rest of his sister wives are sticking by their man. In fact, they all feel hurt that Christine would betray the family like that, adding it makes them feel like she was never really all-in, to begin with. Of course, that can easily be disputed on the other end.

For 17 seasons, fans of Sister Wives got to watch one man live a married life with four different women at the same time. Now, for the first time since the show first aired, Kody is left with just three wives after Christine moved to Utah to be closer to her children. The show has been filled to the brim with drama.

Kody’s original wife, Meri, is taking the divorce ‘personally’ and hasn’t had a chance to cry about it due to being so pissed. “I felt like she was a friend for a lot of years. We believe that this is the family structure for us and now all of a sudden everyone’s just changing their mind because it was hard?” said Meri.

In some ways, it appears Kody Brown has been playing favorites and is spending much more time with Robyn than with his other wives. He recently revealed he doesn’t consider himself married to Meri, while she admits she wants to work on the marriage. He’s also not intimate with his other wife, Janelle, anymore.
