Six-Month-Old Baby Now Holds a World Record After Becoming the Youngest Person to Ever Waterski And There’s Video to Prove It

Ever watch a six-month-old baby waterski? Well, you’re about to. This is Rich Humphreys, and yes, he really is only six months old.

And while he may have only been alive for 183 days, he already has nearly 10,000 followers on Instagram and has gone viral for his waterskiing abilities. A quick look at Rich’s Instagram, which is run by his parents, the little boy has spent much of his 183 days of life on the water.

So it’s no wonder Rich is a natural when it comes to spending his days on his family’s boat. However, it is surprising just how good he is on a pair of waterskis. After all, he can’t even walk yet.

On September 12, a photo and a video of Rich on the skis for the first time were shared on his Instagram feed and people immediately took notice. In fact, Rich’s first ride on the skis solidified his spot in the world record books as the youngest person to ever go waterskiing.

“I went water skiing for my 6 month birthday,” the Instagram caption read. “Apparently that’s a big deal… #worldrecord.”

Of course, while many people were extremely impressed by Rich’s unbelievable talent, his parents did endure some backlash with people calling it irresponsible and dangerous. Nonetheless, several comments defended the parents.

“I was always a helicopter parent and I watched the video. This baby was watched very [carefully] and the speed wasn’t a lot so all you haters need to back off. His daddy was keeping a close eye and Baby was fine and happy,” one commenter wrote.

“I don’t know why people are so scared [over] all this,” another person wrote. “I don’t see the baby frustrated or uncomfortable. He is clearly enjoying [it]. My friend’s son was walking when he was 6 months without support, my niece is taking swimming classes at 6 months. So what’s the big deal?”

How amazing is that?
