It’s Mother’s Day, Which Means It’s Time to Watch the Amy Schumer SNL Skit That Will Never Get Old

Three years ago, Amy Schumer guest starred on Saturday Night Live. It was SNL’s Mother’s Day episode that year and Amy starred in a skit that will forever go down as one of the show’s most popular.

Every year, women around the world become moms for the first, second, third, fourth time and every year, more and more women find themselves relating to this particular SNL skit. You see, Schumer, who wasn’t yet a mother when she filmed this skit, is seen celebrating Mother’s Day with her son and husband.

The skit starts off serene, like a Mother’s Day most moms can only dream off, but then when Schumer tells her son that the best day of her life was the “day you were born,” the son asks what that day was like. And that’s when the skit takes a hilarious and dramatic turn.

Here, just watch the SNL skit for yourself:

While Schumer described the day her son was born as if it were something she would want to relive over and over again, flashbacks showed what the day was really like—filled with bloodcurdling screams and so, so much chaos!

And moms everywhere could relate deeply to this SNL skit. “There is no joke in this skit, though, only truth,” one woman wrote in the YouTube comments.

“Lol, my mom broke her doctors nose while giving birth to me,” another person added. “Her yelling at her husband is exactly why our mom didn’t want our dad in the room when she gave birth to either of us, lol,” wrote someone else.

One year later, Schumer would become a mom for the first time herself:

So thank you, to all the moms out there, for putting up with all the pain and sacrifice, before, DURING, and after we are born. And thank you for always sugarcoating the truth! Happy Mother’s Day, to all the moms and caregivers out there!
