New reports are revealing that the 10-year-old son of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner was involved in an accident over the weekend. During their marriage, Ben and Jennifer welcomed three children into the world, their son Sam and two daughters, Violet and Seraphina.
According to reports, Sam was with his father and his father’s fiancée Jennifer Lopez while they visited a luxury car dealership. According to a source, they told People that “Ben was at the dealership to test drive a new car.”

As the source continued, Ben was indulging his young son who “seemed very interested in the exotic cars. Ben let him get into the driver’s seat of a very expensive Lamborghini, [and] the car ended up reversing into another parked car.”
Thankfully, the source further told People, that “there seemed to be no damage to the cars though. You could tell that Ben very much regretted letting Sam get into the driver’s seat. He seemed upset about it.”
People reported that it was a white BMW that the Lamborghini hit. It’s unclear if the BMW belonged to the dealership or if the car belonged to another customer.
In a statement released by a representative for Ben, they said, “There was no damage. Everyone is okay.” Sam’s mom, Jennifer Garner, has not spoken out about the situation.

Back in 2021, Affleck opened up about his past alcohol addiction and also who and what is to blame for his habit, while talking with SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. Affleck told Howard Stern that his divorce from Garner was why he decided to get help, but their marriage is why he started drinking in the first place.
“Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped.” At some point during the 13 years he was married to Garner, Affleck said he became unhappy. But in the end, the couple amicably figured it out and did their best.
“Did we have moments of tension? Did we have disagreements over custody? Was stuff difficult for us? Did we get angry? Yes, but fundamentally it was always underpinned with a respect,” he continued. “I knew she was a good mom. I always hoped she knew I was a good dad. I knew I was.”
