The police report revealed that Declyn was found inside a 2014 Mercedes Benz C350 that had been reported stolen around 1:40 a.m. The car was illegally double-parked on the corner of West 140th and Broadway.

TMZ reports that the car was reportedly stolen more than two years ago and the plates found on the luxury car were registered to a different vehicle. The 24-year-old has since been charged with felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.
According to TMZ, he has since been released from police custody with an appearance ticket for a future court date. Shortly after his arrested Declyn made a statement about his mom.
“Say what you want about me, but keep my mother’s name out your mouth. I could have asked God for a better mother,” he wrote, according to The New York Post.

Over the last several years, Declyn has followed in his mother’s footsteps becoming a rather well-known musician with millions of followers on social media. As People reports, G-Easy was the most recent artist he has collaborated with.
Declyn is Lauper’s only child, whom she shares with her husband of 31 years, actor David Thornton. Several years ago, Cyndi admitted that she believes her son “feels the pressure of being my son.”
However, it seems as though as the years have gone on, he has come into his own. Neither representatives for Cyndi nor Declyn have issued a statement since his arrest.
