Stepmom Gets Branded as a Monster for Asking Facebook Group to Edit Her Stepson Out of a Family Photo

Reddit is branding a woman as “an evil stepmom” after she took to social media in an attempt to find someone who could edit a photo of her family.

As Fox News reports, a screenshot of a Facebook post was shared on Reddit and quickly gain the attention of others after it was realized that the woman who wrote the Facebook post was asking to have her stepson photoshopped out of a family photo.

The photos showed the mom and stepmom with three children in matching plaid shirts sitting nearby. However, while the mom said she loved the photos how they were, she wished she could have received a few of just her and her, seemingly, biological children.

The post originally read, “Is there anyway y’all could remove the kid to the right in these pictures. He’s my stepson and I love these pictures of us together but I also didn’t get any good ones with just two without him. Also, remove him from the full family pictures, please. Thanks in advance.”

However, after allegedly getting some flack from other Facebook users right off the bat, the unidentified mom edited her post with a clarification. “EDIT: I love my stepson but I do want some without him in them. I already posted these ones but I just want to have it both ways.”

Nonetheless, despite her clarifying why she wanted the photos to be edited, Reddit users didn’t take her words lightly either. One commenter wrote, “This is more than likely how his life is every day. I’m sure this mother includes him in things this exact way. Even at that young age, I’m sure it’s known to him that he is secondary to the ‘real’ children. So sad.”

Another commenter said, “If she really loved him equally, there would be no way to tell that he was her stepson.” And one other Reddit user added, “This genuinely made me sad. Imagine how that child felt. I bet he noticed he wasn’t included like the other two.”

It’s unclear if anyone actually photoshopped the photos per the stepmom’s requestion. “When you become a step-parent you take that child in as your own. How incredibly sad.”
