“1000-lb Sisters” star Tammy Slaton has reached a “mind-blowing” milestone in her weight loss journey.
And her family couldn’t be more “ecstatic.”
In a Nov. 13 clip posted to TLC’s Instagram page, the 38-year-old stepped on a scale to see if she had lost any weight since her last update.
“The last time I was at Dr. Smith’s, three months ago, I weighed in at 303,” she said at the beginning of the video.
This time, when she stepped on the scale, it read 281.2 pounds — a loss of 21.8 pounds.
In her latest update, she goes on to admit that she hasn’t seen a number that small on a scale since she was in fourth or fifth grade.
It’s also the first time in a while that she weighed less than her brother, Chris Combs.
“Chris said he weighs 284 [pounds]. I now weigh a little less than Chris,” Slaton said with a smile on her face.
“That’s mind-blowing. I think the last time I weighed 281 I was like, fourth or fifth grade,” she added. “I’m the baby sister, but I’m not the ‘big’ baby sister no more.”
After stepping off the scale, Slaton turned to her brother and asked how she was lighter than him.
“You’re supposed to be lighter than me,” Combs replied. When Slaton asked if it’s because she’s short, Combs’ wife chimed in and said it’s because he has a lot of muscle.
In a confessional of his own, Combs said seeing his sister succeed makes him “ecstatic.”
“Did I ever think I’d see the day that she was smaller than me?” he asked. “Well, no, probably not, because I never thought about her being smaller than me. She’s always been Tammy, big.”
Slaton, who told People in December that she weighed 725 pounds at her highest, revealed in an August TikTok video that she has lost 500 pounds since 2020.
In a separate clip posted on TLC’s Instagram page, Slaton met with a doctor to inquire about skin removal surgery — something she has been interested in since undergoing bariatric surgery in 2022.
While he says she’s still not approved for skin removal, he encourages her to continue dropping weight to ensure she qualifies as a candidate when it’s time.
“I’m definitely not telling you ‘no,’ I’m just telling you not tomorrow,” the doctor said.
He went on to explain that she’s still just 13 to 14 months out from her weight loss surgery and likely won’t reach her lowest weight until after 18 months.
Since she had surgery in July 2022, the 18-month mark would fall sometime around February.
Slaton, who looked defeated at the small setback, was encouraged by her brother to listen to the doctor.
The sixth season of “1000-lb Sisters” began on Oct. 6. New episodes air on TLC on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
