Tensions are running high after Tarek El Moussa verbally assaulted ex-wife, Christina Haack while filming for their show, Flip or Flop.
Amid news that El Moussa, 39, flipped out at Haack, 38, last week while filming their HGTV home renovation series, a source tells PEOPLE that the father of two — who shares daughter Taylor Reese, 10, and son Brayden James, 5 with ex — regrets his actions.
“They did get into a disagreement. Tarek lashed out and he’s super remorseful,” the insider says. “They’re exes who share a history and children and a workplace, but outside of co-parenting, they’re not friends.”
This past week El Moussa spoke out against Haack on the set of their HGTV show Flip or Flop after he was upset at how she signaled to him that she and the crew were ready to film the next segment.
During the confrontation, El Moussa allegedly yelled at Haack, saying that he enjoys watching her fail. He also compared her to his current fiancée Heather Rae Young, YIKES.
“Look at me, look at me, look at me. It’s called winning,” El Moussa reportedly told Haack, saying that he “made” her and referring to her as a “washed-up loser.”
Haack and El Moussa were married from 2009 to 2018, and both rose to fame in 2013 thanks to Flip or Flop on HGTV.
But Haack isn’t letting the drama touch her. In a recent post to Instagram, she praised her boyfriend, Joshua Hall.
Haack, 38, praised Hall in a heartfelt tribute on her Instagram, Wednesday, calling her partner, “Ride or Die.”

Haack captioned a picture of the two sitting in a car with: “Some people are lucky enough to get forever the first time but no one should be shamed for things not working out and no one knows what goes on behind closed doors.”
Haack went on to inform followers to “remember that before making judgments and assumptions,” adding that “this woman/mama is still lucky enough to have this man choose me.”
Haack went public with her relationship with Hall in early July, writing to Instagram: “When we met this past spring, the synchronicities hit us so hard and fast they were impossible to ignore.”
“We’ve had a few solid months of just us getting to know each other and I’ve loved every second of it,” she continued, adding at the time, “So yes ‘another relationship’ and guess what. I’m 38 -I’ll do what I want.”
