The emergence of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as a power couple was something none of us had on our 2023 bingo card. But in just one short year, their romance has blossomed into a “beautiful” thing.
At least that’s what one wife of a Kansas City Chiefs’ player is saying.
“I feel like it’s beautiful,” Jayla Thornton-Cook, the wife of Chiefs safety Bryan Cook, said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, published on Oct. 11.

She went on to praise the couple for their work-life balance and noted how everyone’s situation is unique.
“So just for them to acknowledge how hard it is to manage relationships and just deal with everything,” Thornton-Cook added. “I feel like it’s a great spotlight to have. It is definitely very cool for them.”
Swift, 34, and Kelce, 35, started dating sometime in summer 2023. She attended her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24, when she was spotted in a VIP suite sitting next to Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, 72.
Since then, she has formed a close bond with other wives and girlfriends in the Chiefs Kingdom.
After last Sunday’s win against the New Orleans Saints, Swift spent some time partying with other WAGs and was even featured in one of their social media videos.

“How do you feel after this win?,” Chariah Gordon, the fiancée of wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., asked Swift in a video on Oct. 8. The two were standing in front of a photo of Swift hanging on the wall.
“No, it’s important that you answer the question this time,” Swift said. Gordon’s husband finished the game with four catches and 33 yards after recording nothing in the first four games.
Kelce’s life has changed a lot over the past year
Dating one of the biggest stars on the planet isn’t easy, but Kelce is making the most of it.
The future Hall of Fame tight end is in the midst of his 12th season in the NFL and is showing no signs of slowing down with 24 catches and 228 yards through the first five games.
But when he’s not spending time with his superstar girlfriend, he’s staying busy with the dozens of new opportunities that have opened up for him in the past year.
For example, Kelce earned a supporting role on the FX thriller Grotesquerie and made his official acting debut in episode 3, which first aired on Oct. 2.
He also earned a cameo appearance in the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 film, according to Adam Sandler.
Swift returns to her ‘Eras Tour’ on October 18
Swift, on the other hand, is enjoying the tail end of her two-month hiatus from her iconic The Eras Tour, which had her performing three-hour sets for four months straight as she traveled across the globe.
The tour’s American leg began in March 2023 and concluded in November 2023 before taking a holiday break. She returned in February to begin the international leg of the tour, which concluded on August 20.
The final leg, which includes stops in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver, begins on Oct. 18. and runs through Dec. 8.
It’s unclear how many of Kelce’s games she’ll attend over the next two months, but she managed to make it to three of the first five while on break.
