“Well… we are pregnant again!” Rhett shared on Instagram on Mother’s Day. “Tonight when I was on stage in Fort Worth about to play ‘to the guys that date my girls’ my wife talked to me in my (ear monitors) and said ‘you can tell them if you want’ so anyways, now you know.”

“We are pumped to be having our 4th girl???????????? ,” the musician wrote. “Feel free to buy all the merch you want, knowing that all the proceeds are going straight to all these weddings I’ll be paying for one day!”

“Love you so much @laur_akins we always wanted a big thanksgiving table????,” the star concluded.

Thomas Rhett isn’t the only one who is super excited about the news, Lauren also shared her thoughts on the matter.

“SURPRISE!! he just couldn’t wait any longer, so @thomasrhettakins told our newest little secret onstage at @billybobstexas in Ft. Worth (my mama’s hometown ????) just in time for Mother’s Day ????: Akins family expanding in November 2021 with our FOURTH baby girl,” she wrote on Instagram.

Did you catch that due date? The family expects to welcome their fourth daughter in November, just in time for that Thanksgiving Rhett wrote about.

“To the Guys That Date My Girls,” the song Thomas Rhett sang immediately following the announcement on stage, is a truly heartfelt tearjerker.

“To the guys that date my girls, let’s get one thing straight/ When you pick ’em up, show up early, when you bring ’em home, don’t be late/ Mind your manners ’round their mama, boys, yeah, for what it’s worth/ If you wanna get to their heart, you’ll have to get to hers,”

Lyrics from “To the Guys That Date My Girls,” Thomas Rhett.

In June 2020, Rhett opened up about being a white father to his Black daughter. Their oldest, Willa Gray, was adopted in 2015 from Uganda. He said it’s been a “struggle.”

“As the father of a black daughter and also two white daughters- I have struggled with what to say today. We have navigated forms of racism directly and while there is mostly overwhelming support and love for our family, sometimes there is just the opposite. Because of that fear, it can be a lot easier to choose silence, but today I’m choosing to speak.”

The comments followed the release of the video showing George Floyd‘s murder by a police officer.

“I have no clue what it feels like to be profiled by authorities, treated negatively, or have my life threatened because of the color of my skin,” he wrote at the time.

“When I witnessed the horrific murder of George and think about the mistreatment of other black men and women in America, I am heartbroken and angry,” he continued.

“I get scared when I think about my daughters and what kind of world they will be growing up in and how my JOB as a father is to show them how to lead with love in the face of hate. To know their worth and value as not only women but human beings.”

“We each have to be part of the solution and we have to continue to educate ourselves, continue to support both financially and with service those organizations doing good work in our communities to overcome injustice and hatred in our country,” he wrote as he concluded.

“And if you’re like me, continue to pray,” Rhett advised. “So if there is any question on where I stand let me be clear- I stand with you, I stand with George and his family and all those who have faced racism. I stand with my wife and my daughters. We will be fighting this fight for the rest of our lives.”

It’s clear this father is deeply invested in his daughters’ well-being. We imagine that level of concern will continue with his baby girl on-the-way.

Congrats, Thomas Rhett and Lauren Atkins!
