Ashley Tisdale Isn’t Planning on Watching High School Musical with Her Daughter

Ashley Tisdale is expecting her first child – a girl – this spring. While she’s very excited to become a mom, one thing she isn’t planning to do with her daughter is watch High School Musical.

“Personally, I don’t watch my own stuff,” the actress told People. “Also, my husband has hardly seen anything that I’m in. I think I just showed him High School Musical this year, and we’ve been married six years at this point. And that wasn’t even the full movie. I’m not someone who likes to watch myself.”

“I’m not going to be like, ‘Don’t watch it,'” Tisdale added. “I look completely different. It feels like a different lifetime!”

In addition to High School Musical, Tisdale is also known for her starring roles on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody and Phineas and Ferb.

Now, the first-time mom can be seen on The Masked Dancer, a spinoff of the popular Masked Singer competition show. Tisdale is one of the panelists who is charged with guessing which celebrity is hiding behind the costume.

“This time right now, it’s obviously been really difficult for everyone. I have to say, doing this show — it was the most fun I’ve ever had shooting anything. It is so much fun,” she said. “It really brought such a light to me in this moment of time with everything going on, and I just think it’s going to be so entertaining.”

Tisdale and her husband, composer Christopher French, announced their baby news in September 2020.

In November, the couple went a babymoon in Big Sur, where the star shared pics of her burgeoning baby bump from a scenic hike along the coast.

Tisdale spoke earlier this year about how she and French decided to wait to have a baby until it felt for them as a couple.

“I’m not naive about how a baby changes everything as I have a niece and plenty of friends with kids,” she said. “I’m glad I worked on myself before we decided to make this decision. After six years of marriage, we built a strong foundation, and the timing just felt right. I gave it to God and the universe and honestly didn’t feel stressed about it and then it happened very quickly.”
