If Tom Brady’s Marriage Means Anything, This Year Will Be His Last, Source Claims

A source has told People that NFL quarterback Tom Brady knows he’s on thin ice when it comes to his wife Gisele Bundchen. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, rumors began to swirl after Brady took an 11-day hiatus from practice prior to the start of the season.

It’s no secret Gisele has been eagerly awaiting Tom’s retirement and as she told Elle earlier this week she had hoped his retirement would mean more time together as a family and more time for her to restart her own career after putting it on the back burner for him.

However, Tom Brady made the decision earlier this year, just weeks after announcing his retirement that he would be coming out of retirement to play his 23rd season in the NFL. Now a source has said Brady knows this is his last season if his marriage means anything to him.

If Tom Brady’s Marriage Means Anything, This Year Will Be His Last, Source Claims

Tom Brady “knows that this is his last season” in the NFL “if he wants to stay married” to Gisele. “She doesn’t hate that he’s playing football, but she sure hates the way he handled the retirement and coming back,” a source told People.

“He knows that, and he’s doing what he can do to smooth things over. He does know that this is his last season if he wants to stay married. He can’t do this again.”

The source continued, saying, “So now all he can do is make this season count, spend time with his family whenever he can, and then retire at the end of the season.”

According to the source, it was a group effort between him and Gisele when he initially decided to retire last year. However, “then he decided by himself that he’d come back,” the source claimed while talking with  People.

“She said they’d talk about it more, but then he came back anyway, before they had really talked it all through. She’s a very ‘pros vs cons’ person, and she sees very few pros to him playing anymore.”

On September 12, Brady played coy when asked if this year will really be his last year in the league. He responded by saying he will “take it day by day, and I’ll evaluate everything as it comes.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Bundchen is ELLE’s cover model for their October issue and she sat down with the magazine to talk about her husband’s decision to return to the NFL for his 23rd season.

Now, in her own words, Gisele is speaking out about her husband returning to the football field one more time. While talking with ELLE, Gisele opened up about stepping back from her career as a model to raise their children.

Tom and Gisele share two children together, 12-year-old Ben and 9-year-old Vivian. Gisele is also the stepmom to Tom Brady’s oldest child 15-year-old Jack.

“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Brady]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams,” Gisele told ELLE.

Gisele continued saying, “Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing [Brady] succeed, and being fulfilled in his career—it makes me happy. At this point in my life, I feel like I’ve done a good job on that.”

And even though Gisele is grateful to have had the opportunity to be so present in her husband and children’s lives, Gisele admits she still has dreams of her own that she wants to pursue.

“I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do. At 42, I feel more connected with my purpose,” she told ELLE. “I feel very fulfilled in that way, as a mother, and as a wife. And now it’s going to be my turn. It’s not like I’m going to be in the valley forever.”

Gisele also admitted she hoped Brady would be more present in the years going forward. “Obviously, I have my concerns—this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.”

”I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”

On Monday, sources reported that Brady’s decision to come out of retirement put “a strain on the personal side of his life,” and that “Gisele is frustrated and sick of his career coming before their family, who has always supported him.”

Despite all of the rumors about their relationship, Gisele did take to Twitter on Sunday night to cheer on her husband who beat Dallas in their season opener. Here’s to hoping the uber-famous couple can work things out.
