In May, fans of the original “The Bachelorette” couple grew concerned after Trista Sutter and her husband Ryan Sutter seemingly appeared to have separated over the summer.
Concern for Trista and Ryan Sutter began when he took to Instagram to share a statement saying that he missed his wife.
Alongside a black and white photo of their family of four, Ryan Sutter wrote, “I know you wish you were here for Mother’s Day. We wish you were too.”
“But sometimes being a mom means letting go of their hands, granting independence and stimulating their courageous spirit,” Ryan continued. “Sometimes it’s necessary to exemplify the characteristics you preach – to do rather than say.”
“Sometimes it takes being uncomfortable and scared to show them that it’s ok to be uncomfortable and scared. Sometimes you have to go away so they know you’ll come back, that your love is not limited by distance or difficulty or time. Sometimes you have to do what you sometimes have to do,” Ryan cryptically explained.
Ryan then reiterated how “proud” they are their “mama pajama for everything you do for us, near or far, Happy Mother’s Day!”
In a second Instagram post, Ryan wrote, “I really wish I could talk to you,” he began in the caption.
“Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day. I’d really like to hear your voice – just for a minute. So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone,” he continued.
Ryan added that he wants “to know how you’re doing. I want to support and encourage and cheer you on. I want to be there for you. But I can’t. And that’s ok cause I know you need this time – time to discover yourself again.”
“So I’ll be here for you instead. I’ll be here when you get back. I’ll be here to listen to you, to smile with you, maybe cry with you – I’ll be here to love you… I’ll be here… forever.”
Now, Trista Sutter is coming clean on Instagram, explaining why she was away from her family for so long.
“Was it a divorce/nervous breakdown/mid-life crisis/death/trial separation back in May,” Trista Sutter wrote on Instagram. “Not unless that’s what you call Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, season 3.”
Alongside her statement, she shared the trailer for the newest season.
In the trailer, Trista Sutter can be heard telling the cameras, “the devil on my shoulder is going, ‘You can’t do this.’ I’m just trying to believe in the angel that is telling me, ‘You can do it.’”
As she continued in her statement, she assured her fans that “none of those things are associated with my experience in filming the show, but as you get a glimpse of in the trailer, the angel on my shoulder did have to face some pretty big battles.”
“You’ll have to tune in in January to see the battles play out, but for now, just so grateful to be a part of this epic adventure.”
