Zac Brown Band Cancels Show in Vancouver After Several Band Members Weren’t Allowed in the Country

On April 22, the Zac Brown Band embarked on a 31-stop concert tour that was supposed to touch down in 22 states and provinces across the United States and Canada. The tour began in Greenville, South Carolina, and is scheduled to end in Phoenix, Arizona on November 19.

Everything was going smoothly for the country band, but things took a turn for the worse ahead of their concert at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada on October 21. Just one day after a concert in Seattle, Washington, the group announced they had to cancel their Vancouver show.

“We’re sorry to announce that we won’t be able to perform in Vancouver tonight. Our Canadian fans are incredible, and we would love nothing more than to share an evening of music together,” said the Zac Brown Band on their official Facebook page, detailing their frustration.

According to the post, some of the crew members had charges on their records from over a decade ago. While the crew has performed in Canada regularly over the past 10 years and the charges have since been removed, those crew members were denied access to the country.

It was a shocking discovery, considering the band has performed in Canada twice this year. Each time we’ve come to Canada, we have been at the mercy of a single border agent who decides who is allowed in to work,” they added, explaining that not everyone made it through.

While the band could’ve still performed without the missing crew members, they decided to stick together and remain as one, calling themselves “a family, a tribe.” Instead, they shifted their focus onto the next show, which was a success at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

“We stick together and support each other and we never leave anyone behind. As a band that prides itself on showing up with excitement and professionalism, we will always play where we are welcome and appreciated, and we’re so sorry we can’t be there tonight.”

Despite the hiccup on October 21, the Zac Brown Band came back in full force on October 22 and gave the Portland community a night to remember. And while they would’ve loved to perform for the Vancouver area, they aren’t done with this tour just yet and have more planned.

Their next show will take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California on November 4th, giving the band two weeks to rest and prepare. They’ll then have a show at Oakland Arena in Oakland, California two days later on November 6th – getting a taste of that California livin’.

The final show of their tour will take place at Chase Field – home of the Arizona Diamondbacks – in Phoenix, Arizona on November 19th, another two-week break for the band. You can expect them to put on quite the show as they bring this six-month tour to its final rest – it was exciting.
