According to Sheriff Fischer, Coker’s remains were found in the wooded area portion of a piece of private property. Fischer explained that where the bones were discovered was “not a common area for a person to go to.”

Police located the remains after a person phoned 911 to report what looked like bones with clothing on them. “I found some bones along the side of the road, and it was actually wearing clothes, I think,” the man said during the initial 911 call. “The bones are just bones, but there is clothing with them. I just touched the bottom part with a stick to see if they were actually wearing and it appears they’ve either stuck to or whatever the bones are was wearing the pants.”

Now, Fischer explained that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done. And authorities are looking at her estranged husband, William “Bill” Coker. While Bill has not been charged formally as of April 30, he had maintained his innocence.

As People reported, Cheryl and Bill were married for nearly 19 years before she filed for divorce. She has two children, her oldest daughter was from her first marriage and she shares her youngest child with Bill.
