This Is Why Jenelle Evans and David Eason Were Spotted Kid-Free in D.C. as Custody Battle Continues

Jenelle Evans and David Eason were recently spotted scooting around Washington, D.C. The couple, who lost custody of their daughter, Ensley, as well as Evans’ two older boys, were solo on their trip to the nation’s capital. This is the first time the couple has been seen in public outside of North Carolina where they’ve been fighting to regain custody of the three children.

Sources told TMZ that the couple were in town for meetings about Evans’ cosmetics line, which is set to relaunch in August, and Eason tagged along on the trip.

Evans is planning to bring back her failed JE cosmetics brand that she had initially launched in 2017 and closed in 2018. A month before losing custody of her children, Evans filed paperwork to revive the JE Cosmetics trademark, according to The Blast. Evans was in town meeting with potential distributors for her line, which previously included lipsticks and false eyelashes.

Evans was fired from MTV’s Teen Mom 2 series after Eason shot and killed their family dog, Nugget. They subsequently lost custody of the kids. She had been with the network for more than nine years and had been making close to $400,000 from the show in 2018, according to records.

Their D.C. excursion comes after weeks of drama for the couple, including multiple court visits and supervised visits with their children. It was recently revealed that the police had been called more than 25 times about the couple’s living situation over the last year. Evans and Eason are continuing couples counseling and parenting classes in an effort to regain custody.
