People Advocating for a Grammy Award After an 8-Year-Old’s Original Song About Buttholes Goes Viral

Jolee Rieffel-Dunn may only be eight years old but as people around the world now know, she is the future songwriter of the next generation. According to Fatherly, while enduring quarantine orders with her parents, Jolee put her pencil to paper and penned what is being described as a “rock-ballad.”

As Jolee’s mom, Lisa Rieffe, revealed on Twitter, her daughter was trying to extend her bedtime to a later date and as a way to stall, wrote the song she titled, “I Wonder What’s Inside Your Butthole.” And if you’re not already intrigued, something is wrong. Take a listen:

And while Lisa might be biased, she revealed on Twitter that her daughter’s original tune “quite honestly, slaps.” And to tell you the truth, we have to agree.

The lyrics to the 20-second jam read, “I wonder what’s inside your butthole,
I wonder what’s inside your butthole,
Maybe there is astronauts,
Maybe there is aliens,
All inside your butthole,
What’s inside your butthole,
I always want to know,
What’s inside your butthole,
I always want to know,
What’s inside your butthole.”

Since posting the music video on Twitter on May 2, it has been viewed over 7.2 million times and it has been liked over 358,000 time. And as Fatherly pointed out, it’s already being covered by other professional musicians.

Bands like Radnor & Lee performed their own rendition of Jolee’s smash hit for Twitter.

And as Lisa told Buzzfeed, she honestly didn’t expect anything less from her very performative daughter.

“Jolee has always been super performative and the funniest person I have ever known. She is always making up songs, and lyrics are her strong suit.” And as Lisa said, Jolee is pretty aware that she’s going viral but only cares about one very specific person’s reaction to her song; Doja Cat.

“Jolee will ponder that for a moment, then ask, ‘Did Doja Cat see it?’ which is her only barometer for fame.” Well, while Jolee waits for Doja Cat’s critic of her original song, we will be sitting here waiting for her next one!
