A stepmom’s TikTok clip of her stepdaughter’s reaction is going viral for the absolute sweetest reason.
Stepmom Ashley caused her stepdaughter Aubree to cry after singing the song “My Girl” by Elvie Shane to her in the car. The clip has since been viewed over 13 million times.
Stepmom Ashley, who is also known as ashleyromano1228 on TikTok, is winning the world over after sharing a heartfelt moment between her and stepdaughter Aubree.
In the clip, Ashley can be seen sitting in the front seat of a car while Aubree sits in the back seat. The song “My Girl” is playing on the radio, and is a song about the love a stepparent has for a stepchild.
At the beginning of the song, Aubree seems relaxed — and eats a snack while spending some with her stepmom. But as the song goes on, Aubree attempts to hold back tears.

“I was NOT expecting that; I LOVE YOU AUBREE!” Ashley captioned the TikTok video.
“She ain’t got my smile, that don’t bother me a bit/She’s got somebody else’s eyes, I’m seeing myself in/I’m holding on to every moment, God knows I’ve missed a few/The day we met I knew I had some catching up to do,” Elvis sang.
“She ain’t got my blood, ain’t got my name/But if she did, I’d feel the same/I wasn’t there for her first steps/But I ain’t missed the ball game yet/And that ain’t ever gonna change/ I could never walk away/Yeah, she’s my baby, my whole world/She ain’t my blood but she’s my, she’s my girl.”

Users were overwhelmed by the sweet clip, commenting how they too were in tears. But many TikTok users also worried if she had lost her mother or had been hurt by her parents in the past, given the strong reaction.
“Aubree still has her bio mum! She is blessed with TWO. Yes, we all get along. We all LOVE her,” she commented. “I promise she’s happy! She’s got both her mum and myself, her dad and her step-dad.”
Aubree’s biological mom also commented on the video with: “I couldn’t have asked for a better woman to become my daughter’s stepmom! Now she has two strong women who love and protect her!”
