New Bodycam Footage of the Domestic Call Involving Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie Revealed

More of what Gabby Petito told Utah police on August 12 is now being revealed. In newly released bodycam footage from the stop that involved Gabby Petito and fiancé, Brian Laundrie has revealed the details of the domestic incident that occurred between the two of them.

In the newly released portion of the body cam footage, Officer Eric Pratt is heard asking Petito to confirm what she just told him, that yes, Brian did hit her but because she hit him first.

“You slapped him first? And just on his face?” Pratt can be heard asking Petito. “Well, he kept telling me to shut up,” Petito responds.

“Did he hit you, though? I mean, it’s OK if you’re saying you hit him, and then I understand if he hit you, but we want to know the truth if he actually hit you, because you know…” Pratt goes on to say.

“I guess, I guess, yeah, but I hit him first,” Gabby Petito responds. “Well, he like grabbed my face, like, I guess. … He didn’t like, hit me in the face. He didn’t, like, punch me in the face or anything,” Petito tells him.

“Did he slap your face or what?” Pratt continued. “Well he, like, grabbed me with his nail, and I guess that’s why it looks… definitely I was cut right here [points to cheek] because I can feel it. When I touch it, it burns,” Petito answered.

“He got really frustrated with me, and he locked me out of the car and told me to go take a breather, but I didn’t want to take a breather,” Petito added in the newly released video. “And I wanted to get going. We’re out of water.”

As the bodycam footage continues, you can hear Gabby Petito asking the officers not to separate her from Laundrie. “Like we’re a team, please. It’s going to give me so much anxiety. Can we just have, like, a driving ticket,” Petito asked.

“The very best thing I can do is call my supervisor and see if I’m missing something here,” the officer answered which caused Petito to get emotional. “I pushed her away,” Laundrie said of the dispute when talking to officers. “She gets really worked up, and when she does she swings and she had her cell phone in her hand. So I was just trying to push her away.”

The footage also revealed the statement given by one of the witnesses of the domestic dispute. “What I noticed was, it seemed like they were sort of squabbling over a phone. I want to say that he was trying to grab her phone, and I’m not sure exactly why,” the witness tells the officer.

“And then it seems as he had sort of walked to one side of the van and sort of wasn’t letting her in, and then the male was stepping into the driver’s seat and she was trying to get into the van, and he said something about, ‘Why are you being so mean?’ something like that. I remember she sort of hit him a few times. And it wasn’t, like, slugs in the face, but just kind of like two kids fighting,” the witness revealed.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, one month and one week after this stop occurred, Gabby Petito’s body was discovered on September 19. She was found at a remote campsite in Wyoming.

New Information Has Also Come to Light Regarding the Camping Reservations Made By Brian Laundrie’s Mother.

As Mamas Uncut reported, it was revealed that on September 6 to September 8, the Laundrie family, including Brian, backed up their own camper and reserved a campsite at Fort De Soto. Documents now revealed that this particular camping trip was supposed to happen a week earlier.

According to CNN, documentation reveals that the reservation made for September 1 to September 3 for two people was made on August 24 but then canceled on August 31. While it’s unclear why it was canceled, the reservation was then changed on September 3 and made for September 6 to the 8 for three people.

And What Is This New Phone Purchase All About?

It remains unclear what happened to Brian Laundrie’s old phone or that last time it was used, but his lawyer has confirmed that the 23-year-old did buy a new phone at AT&T on September 4. The attorney further admitted that it was not a burner phone and that Laundrie opened an account when purchasing the phone.

Laundrie reportedly did not take the phone with him when he left for his hike on September 14. FBI is now in possession of Laundrie’s new phone. Three days after leaving on that hike and never returning home, his parents reported him missing.

The last time Gabby Petito spoke to her parents was on August 25. The family revealed that they had received text messages from Gabby’s phone up until August 30, but it remains unclear if those texts came from Petito herself.

Shortly after all communication between Gabby Petito and her parents stopped, Brian Laundrie returned back to Florida in the white Ford van they had been traveling cross country in. Laundrie has now disappeared as well.

There are multiple searches underway in an attempt to find Brian who has been labeled as a person of interest in Petito’s homicide. Brian also has a federal warrant out for his arrest which accuses him of using another person’s debit card and PIN number on August 30 and September 1.

Ten days later, on September 11, Gabby Petito was officially reported missing by her mother and the white van was seized as evidence. According to law enforcement, police did not see Laundrie while taking the van in for evidence. However, his parents claim they last saw him on September 14.
