Kim Kardashian West is known for her looks, her figure, and her ability to create a multi-million dollar beauty and fashion empire, all while being a mom of four and going to school to be a lawyer.
It’s not news that Kardashian West’s body earned her celebrity status. From a leaked sex-tape to posting thousands of sexy photos on social media, in the past, Kardashian West hasn’t shied away from sharing her curves with the world.

However, that is all about to change. In an interview with The Cut, the mom of four said she’s gearing up to be more modest in 2020 for her children’s sake:
Interviewer: “What else has changed since 2010? There’s a sense I have that you’ve been dressing a little less sexy recently.”
Kim: “I saw this whole thing where it’s like, ‘She’s so demure, and she’s covered.’ And I was like, ‘Guys, I had a shearling coat on and a turtleneck because it’s, like, freezing.’ But I think I have a little bit.”
The reality star continued, “I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that. I listen to him and understand him. Still, at the end of the day, he always gives me the freedom to be and do what I want.”
However, it was an awakening she had while scrolling through social media herself that she realized she had to make a personal change for the sake of her four children, 6-year-old North, 3-year-old Saint, 1-year-old Chicago, and 6-month-old Psalm.
“But I have kind of had this awakening myself. I realized I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time. And I definitely contributed to that. I mean, one of my most iconic covers was the Paper magazine one, when I was all oiled up and ripping my dress off. I also did think, like, ‘Okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie.‘ And I was thinking, ‘I hope they don’t see this. I have to go back there next week.'”
The mom said she no longer feels “the need” to keep up with the latest trends or the most outrage photos online. “Now I’m just like, ‘Let’s actually live in real-time and enjoy it. If we happen to get a photo, great.'”
Kardashian-West also listened to her husband’s advice when it came to no longer letting North wear make-up in public. Although the celebrity mom is no stranger to being mom-shamed online, one of the things she was slammed for was for letting her 6-year-old daughter wear make-up in public.
And while Kardashian West doesn’t normally conform to those who shame her online, she did reveal in an interview that Kanye also disapproved of his young daughter wearing make-up, specifically in public. She said in an interview with E! News:
“She loves makeup, but her dad won’t let her wear it. I think he had it, he changed all the rules. I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip.”
Kardashian West also admitted that she allowed her youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, to give North pieces from her makeup collections. “So, I kind of got in trouble for that. So, it’s now no more makeup.”

She went on to say in another interview that, at first, she didn’t agree with Kanye’s stance, but now they are on the same page. “I think sometimes if you don’t understand a rule, it is good to learn and ask your friends. In my case, [I asked] my siblings what they would do.”
Kardashian-West said that because she’s constantly changing and evolving, her opinions on things are also changing. But her main goal is to give her kids a future that she is proud of and we think most parents can agree with that.
