Child Accidentally Hangs Herself at Amusement Park

A 4-year-old child is dead after she accidentally strangled herself while visiting an amusement park.

According to reports, the child was from Ukraine when she was inside an inflatable trampoline. Sadly, while playing inside the trampoline, the girl “became entangled in the looks of the inflatable object,” police revealed.

As Fox News reports, no one noticed the girl in distress until it was too late. Her cause of death has been labeled as suffocation.

Reports suggest a 45-year-old owner of the inflatable trampoline has been arrested in connection to the fatal accident.   The three employees present at the tragedy were reportedly busy looking at their respective phones as the child struggled to free herself.

It’s unclear if those employees also face legal repercussions as well. Natalia Kuchynska, the child’s godmother told TSN that “there were three girls (employees) near the trampoline who were supposed to watch over the children. But instead, they sat with their backs to the trampoline, looking at something on their phones.”

Devastating.

According to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, “in the past 20 years, the number of injuries associated with inflatable bouncers treated in hospital emergency departments in the U.S. has skyrocketed, and now equals more than 30 children a day, or about one child every 45 minutes.” As the hospital continues, it suggests a few safety tips, revealing that it’s important to “limit bouncer use to children 6 years of age and older,” and “should only be used when an adult trained on safe bouncer use is present.”

“The safest way to use a bouncer is to have only one child on it at a time. If more than one child will be on the bouncer at the same time, make sure that the children are about the same age and size (weight).”
