On this week’s episode of the Unlocked podcast, Savannah Chrisley was joined by her family’s lawyer, Alex Little, to talk about her parents’ trial and prison sentences – a common topic of discussion on the podcast. At one point during the conversation, Savannah gave an update on her father’s appearance.
More specifically, she revealed that Todd Chrisley no longer has blonde hair and, instead, has learned to embrace his natural gray roots. While it’s definitely something that took some getting used to, Savannah has already opened up to his new look and would want him to keep it gray, even if he weren’t in prison.
“First off, news flash, they don’t sell hair color in commissary, so of course his hair is gray,” she explained on the podcast before describing the man behind his new-and-improved hairstyle. “It looks good. He’s got a great prison barber, he’s this Puerto Rican guy. He’s very kind, he’s got tattoos from his face down.”
In fact, this isn’t the first time Savannah Chrisley has opened up about her father’s changing appearance. In February, nearly a month after her father started his prison sentence, Savannah visited the prison camp he was staying in and talked about her experience during an episode of her Unlocked podcast.
At the time, she explained how her father’s natural gray roots were starting to show since he was unable to maintain his hair as usual and described how ‘weird it was to see him like that. He’s definitely used some color over the years, and now seeing him with gray hair. I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh!’” she admitted.
For those that don’t remember or haven’t been following the Chrisley family the past few years, Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion in June 2022. Five months later, in November 2022, the couple were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison, which began in January.
Barring any changes, Todd Chrisley will spend the next 12 years at FPC Pensacola and won’t be released until 2035. Meanwhile, his wife will spend the next 7 years at Federal Medical Center (FMC), Lexington and won’t be released until 2030. They’ll both spend 16 months on probation upon their release.
Savannah Chrisley and Her Lawyer Discuss Issues With the Trial
Savannah Chrisley and Alex Little talked a lot about the family’s recent criminal issues and some of the problems they had with the trial and the sentence. More specifically, Alex detailed two of his biggest issues and why he believes Todd and Julie Chrisley weren’t treated fairly throughout their legal battle.
“We have two separate issues. I think one here is they got a bad shake with the way that the court ran the trial,” Alex said of the trial – adding that ‘some of the evidence introduced against’ the couple were ‘pretty clearly not true.’ The trial commenced on May 16, 2022 and concluded three weeks later on June 7, 2022.
The second issue he had was with the sentence. “If it were true and they had done these things, is the sentence at all appropriate? A day in prison for something you didn’t do is not appropriate,” he said. “If you did do this crime, what would be the appropriate sentence? Is it 15 years? I don’t think so…”

He went on to talk about how the system is set up in a way that shows the government doesn’t care about people who have committed a crime – alluding to the biased judgments and the poor conditions criminals are subject to while serving out their sentences. It’s something they hope will change in the near future.
