Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle shocked the world when they announced that they were stepping back from royal life, but it looks like they have zero regrets, People reports.
During the couple’s first joint public appearance since their “Megxit” announcement, Harry shared his motivation for making such a difficult decision. According to Page Six, Harry said “while it has been very difficult on him and Meghan, he does not regret their decision to step down as senior royals because he wants to protect his family.”

According to a source at the JPMorgan event in Miami’s South Beach, Prince Harry does not want his son Archie to experience what he did as a child. During his speech, Harry also shared that he has been in therapy for the past few years to cope with the trauma of losing his mother.
It is rumored that the famous couple stayed at Meghan’s friend, Serena Williams’ home in Palm Beach during their visit. Serena and her family attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.
Since their departure, it has been reported that the couple has enjoyed their time in Canada as a “normal” family. The Duchess has been seen on leisurely walks with baby Archie and their dogs.
Shortly after the couple announced their decision to step back in January, Harry made a heartfelt announcement about their decision. He said, in part:
“It brings me great sadness that it has come to this. The decision that I have made for my wife and me to step back, is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you.”
Harry continued, “Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am. But I hope that helps you understand what it had to come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.”
And according to a source that’s exactly what they’ve found, People reports. “It was just this tremendous shift when Meghan returned to Canada [after their announcement],” the source said. “You could tell that she felt so much less stressed.”
Right now, they are just trying to live their life “as normal parents,” the source added.
