Months before her children were missing, she married Chad Daybell, and her children’s bodies were found buried on Daybell’s Idaho property, Lori Vallow was married to Charles Vallow. Allow the former couple was heading for divorce, Charles reportedly attempted to get his wife help prior to his unexpected passing.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in December 2018, Lori started a podcast about her role “as a god preparing for the second coming of Christ.” It was the following month, in January 2019, that Charles attempted to get his wife psychiatric help. However, as the East Idaho News reports, she was medically cleared after passing all of her evaluations.
By February 2019, Charles filed for divorce citing that Lori threatened to kill him if he got in the way of her mission. Now, the video of Charles reporting the alleged threat has since been released to Good Morning America.

In the video, Charles can be seen and heard telling police that he believes Lisa has “lost her reality,” before revealing that she threatened to kill him because she didn’t believe he was Charles and instead called her husband, “Mick Schnieder.” When asked who Mick Schnieder is Charles said he had no idea, “I’m as bewildered as you are.”
Charles also said in the video that was captured in January 2019 that he and Lori had a “great marriage” but that “all of a sudden the last month it just blew up.” Then, six months after that bodycam footage was taken, Charles was shot to death by Lisa’s brother Alex Cox in July 2019. Their son, J.J. Vallow reportedly witnessed the shooting.
In December 2019, Cox passed away due to a blood clot in his lung. Cox originally claimed that he shot Charles in self-defense. However, police are still investigating Charles’ death.
Both Lori and Daybell remain in police custody on $1 million bonds. J.J. and Tylee Ryan‘s bodies were found on Daybell’s property in June.
