Comedian Amy Schumer and Her Husband, Chef Chris Fischer, Have Been Nominated for an Emmy—But All the Thanks Is Going To Their Son’s Nanny

While in quarantine with her husband, son, and her son’s nanny, comedian Amy Schumer started a show called Amy Schumer Learns to Cook. That show has just been nominated for an Emmy.

As it was revealed in July, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook was nominated for the outstanding unstructured reality program category. The show, if you haven’t already seen it on the Food Network, is an hour-long show where her husband, Chris Fisher, who is a professional chef, teaches her how to drink.

Along with a couple of standalone cameras placed strategically around their home, their only other camerawoman is their son Gene‘s nanny, Jane. As Schumer explained during the first episode of their unstructured reality show, Jane is a full-time student and their parttime nanny.

As Courtney White, president of the Food Network, described the show in a past press release, “The nanny holds the camera, as Chris makes incredibly delicious food and Amy’s sharp wit delivers laugh out loud moments all the way through.”

Nonetheless, after learning their little quarantine show had been nominated for an Emmy, Schumer was quick to shout Jane out for all her help with both Gene and the show. Along with a photo of her and Jane, the mom of one took to Instagram to celebrate the nomination.

“We got nominated for an Emmy today,” Schumer wrote alongside the photo of her and Jane. “(Chris too. But mostly us),” she joked.

The same day the show got nominated, they also revealed that the Emmy-nominated cooking show was given a season two which is scheduled to premiere on August 17. Between Charlize Theron, Natalia Portman, Jessica Alba, and many more, their friends couldn’t have been happier for the dream trio. Congrats, Amy, Jane, and, we suppose, Chris.
