Amy Schumer’s New Mom Bedtime Isn’t Working for Her BFF, Jennifer Lawrence

Getting on a schedule when you have an infant is basically an Olympic sport. Once you find whatever rhythm works for you, it can sometimes to be hard for friends and family to adjust to your routine. Because, you know, they’re used to being awake and/or functioning after 9 p.m. and that’s just not your life anymore. Case in point: Jennifer Lawrence was shaken when her BFF Amy Schumer didn’t respond to text messages one night.

The urgent topic at hand? What in the world was happening on Handmaid’s Tale?! The text chain, shared via Schumer’s Instagram Stories, is a hilarious example of how friendships sometimes evolve following the arrival of a little one.

Amy Schumer's New Mom Bedtime Isn't Working for Her BFF, Jennifer Lawrence | "Don't make me resent the baby."

“You up? I have a question about Handmaid’s Tale,” wrote Lawrence, 28. Schumer, who was sleeping at the time, wasn’t able to respond, but Lawrence persisted. “I can’t remember where I left off. Are you asleep bc of the baby??? Are you asleep before 11? Is this bc of the baby? Don’t make me resent the baby.”

Schumer finally responded, “Hi! I’m awake!”

She posted the exchange, joking, “Everybody keeping their cool about me having a baby.”

Schumer had her first child, Gene Attell, about six weeks ago and has been sharing raw and hilarious photos and video since. A couple of weeks ago, she shared a picture of herself wearing a tank top and mesh underwear (no pants), captioning the pic, “5 weeks. Hospital underwear for life!”

The next day, she posted a follow-up picture with the caption, “I’m really sorry if I offended anyone with my hospital underwear. Except I’m just kidding.”
