The convention took place last weekend. Police were reportedly called to the hotel the night of the incident after receiving reports of a sex offense.
Following an investigation into the allegations, Busey has since been charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact, and one count of harassment. According to CNN, Busey and his team have not yet issued a response on this particular matter.
The Monster Mania Convention is a convention that celebrates the world of horror movies. Busey has starred in several horror movies including The Gingerbread Man, A Crack in the Floor, Hider in the House, Predator 2, and a few more.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Cherry Hill Police Lt. Robert Scheunemann revealed that the complaint “was about contact. It was about touching.”
Scheunemann further explained that they received “multiple complaints” about the actor making unwanted contact throughout the weekend of the convention. On Twitter, FOX 29’s Steve Keeley reported that at least three women reported Busey, saying that he inappropriately touched him while at his meet and greet autograph signing.
With the help of another actor, reports claim Busey was eventually removed from the event after he was seen groping patrons.
Busey is currently married to Steffanie Sampson. They share a 12-year-old son together and Busey has two other children from previous relationships.
