Casey Goode is opening up about her newborn son, Maximillian after he tested positive for COVID-19. Goode is known best for her run on American Idol and for her Instagram account, Officially Quigley.

On October 5, Goode took to Instagram to share a photo of her cradling her baby boy while on his hospital bed. The new mom revealed that they rushed Max to the hospital after he began running a fever.

American Idol Alum Casey Goode’s Newborn Tests Positive for COVID-19

“Max tested positive for COVID-19 early Saturday [morning],” Goode began. “We took him into the ER after he was running a fever in the middle of the night.”

The worried mom went on to say that Max contracted coronavirus by coming in contact with a medical professional who was caring for him following his birth. Max was born on September 18.

“We had confirmation that he was exposed from direct contact with a medical professional who had cared for him earlier in the week. This has been a total shock to us. I am currently quarantining with baby Max in the PICU. They are treating me as if I have been exposed and are likely positive as well, although I am showing no symptoms yet. Please send good energy to our little bub so he recovers fast. Not sure what happens next from here… but I expect to be offline for a while as we recover.”

Sadly, this is Max’s second hospitalization in less than a month. “After I delivered, I only got to see him for a few seconds before he went to the NICU,” Goode wrote in the post where she introduced Max to her followers. As she explained earlier, Goode “went into labor at 37 weeks exactly” just as she and husband were leaving for their babymoon in Ojai.

“As we were making the drive back, I got some alarming blood work results back stating that I had a condition called cholestasis that put me and baby at risk. We decided to labor at home for a while to see if I could still have my planned home birth but baby’s movements stopped so we decided to go to the hospital.”

Thankfully, her birth was successful and after a few days in the NICU, they were able to take their baby boy home. Goode has not shared an update since her initial post. Like many of her followers, we are wishing Goode and Max a speedy recovery.
