Bella Robertson, 18, of A&E’s Duck Dynasty got married on Saturday to her now-husband, Jacob Mayo, 21. The couple had only been dating for 6 months before they got engaged, and pulled together a wedding in just seven months!
In anticipation of their wedding, on May 18th, the two released Instagram posts of them holding their marriage certificate. Bella Robertson’s post was captioned, “Signed, sealed, delivered – @jacobmayo I’M YOURS!!!!!!!” While Jacob‘s read, “Whatcha say? 18 days.”

Bella Robertson announced their engagement in an Instagram post, saying, “I was thankful for you yesterday, I am thankful for you today, and now I get to be thankful for you the rest of my life! I am blown away by God’s goodness and grace. @jacobdmayo lets get married!! I love you forever.”
Jacob then revealed the conditions under which he proposed. His Instagram post shows a candle-lit barn with a rose petal walkway. He captioned it, “Bella is many things to me. She is my best friend. She is the person I can lean on in any problem with no judgment. But with the honest truth, when I’m acting out. She loves Jesus. She holds me to a higher standard that she doesn’t let waver. She unconditionally loves me whether I’m doing what she likes or the opposite side of the spectrum. She’s the one for me forever. She’s my everything. I thank God for her.”
In a conversation with Fox News about her engagement, Bella Robertson explained what made her and Jacob work so well. “[Faith] played the biggest role in our relationship. I mean a hundred percent. I don’t think there’s any way we would be together without it.”
She then explained how they got together, saying, “In the beginning, we were friends for a long time who played tennis together. We had such a good time hanging out. But we ended up dating right when we started talking about real things. We started talking about our faith and that really started to connect us on a deeper level, a different level than we ever had before. I grew up in a Christian household so it was meaningful to connect with someone through faith.”
But will Bella Robertson and Jacob Mayo be starting a family soon? Likely no. “We’re both so young. I’m 18 and Jacob’s 21. We’re both in college right now. So we definitely don’t plan on that anytime in the next few years.”
And as for their ages, that shouldn’t matter. Bella’s older sister, Sadie Robertson, wrote this in response to those who are shaming the bride and groom for getting married so young. “I’m so glad you get to do life with your best friend!! Y’all are going to do amazing things Bella and Jake! LOVE YALL TONS! Just focus on the people who love you and know you and not the hate from those who don’t … you two are special and absolutely stunning! Can’t wait for the future – it’s gonna be AWESOME!”
